Wow! You just showed me in 6 minutes what would have taken hours to figure out. I'm trying to absorb it all. In some parts of the video, you mention the pencil tool, but it appears you're using the pen tool (that's the cursor icon that appears). I'm on Windows (desktop), and when I select the pencil tool, I don't get the same context menu as you (for sharp, smooth, and smart). It appears you're using the pen tool, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. I'm a beginner and am absolutely loving the product and appreciate these videos!

Great run down of the options available! Too many videos advertising the same subject matter will bury the info in long videos and overly complicated descriptions. Thanks for being to the point. Do you have a video on how you made this picture? It's really beautiful. I particularly like the lighting effects around the stars.

Probably one of the most important tools in Designer and very nicely done at that. Would be even better to borrow some ideas from the Astute guys to push it even further, to extend the line etc.

I wish when you would delete a node on a curve line it would keep the curve line and not become straight line.

Great presentation, thank you. I'll certainly be watching this again, several times. I don't understand why a pen tool line is labeled as "Curve" in the palette when I've drawn a straight line. I suppose it's because it can be _changed_ to a curve, but it still looks odd to me.

How does this stacks against Inkscape pen tool modes? I've watched and older comparison vid from Logos By Nick channel and this aspect was an advantage in Inkscape

At least windows got a mention iPad just gets ignored🙇‍♀️ and it is specifically an artists tool yet there are hardly any iPad tutorials not to mention the lack of product research tools that work on the iPad system-which I didn’t realize until after getting it.

Hi, on mac there are 4 modifiers (command, option, shift and control) whereas windows only has 3 (control, alt and shift) so the right mouse button provides a 4th modifier. I hope this helps.

When should one use the pen and when the pencil?

Great question! The pen offers very precise placement and you decide where each node is placed, the pencil tool has a more natural feel and will automatically place nodes on your stroke depending on the journey of your finger or stylus. So for precision use the Pen and for freeform use the Pencil. 😊
