Thank you Olivio, it helps a lot and your ideas how to use it are great. It makes some work much easier. You should build up an Affinity course with a combination of all your awesome tipps and tricks and sell on Udemy or Skillcrush. I now learn so Affinity Designer in detail, as I couldn't find so much on KZfaq, which make me feel comfortable to learn from the beginning. The course is good as it is explaining everything step by step and will go deeper and deeper in detail I think some guys here would buy it, because the concentration in 1 course makes it perfect to learn. Just an idea for you. Thanks again😊

Thank you!! I am coming from PS using the pen tool into AP...and trying to learn the differences. the command to hold 2 keys for moving the handles, etc was very helpful. Questions: Do you have to fill your path before it becomes a selection? If so, this is a big difference. Also, with it creating curves in different layers, I'm having a very difficult time figuring out how to do something like select between two curves, an example would be a doughnut shape. I would generally create a curve for the outside of the doughnut, then create another curve around the hold in the center, so as to select the area of the doughnut in between the outside edge and the hole (excluding the hole). I can't figure out how to do this, since it keeps putting the two curves on different layers...is there not a way to create more than one curve on ONE single layer? This is generally something commonly done, but I can't find an example on Affinity Photo on how to do this. If you could do a quick example of this on a video it would be EXTREMELY helpful!! Thank you in advance, CC

Thats cool I have been tracing stuff with the free hand tool It gets tedious to zoom in change back and forth to add and subtract and try to get right on the edge of pixels.

Hi Olivio - many thanks for this and I followed everything until 11:54 then got stuck - tried so many times to make a copy of just one of the lenses of the sunglasses as in your demo but couldn't get it to work - just kept getting a copy of the original photo (i.e. the whole image, not the area selected) ... grateful for any suggestions thank you! :)

HELP!!! How do I use separation mode? When selected, all my tools and options are wherever. When NOT selected, all my tools and options disappear. Where do they go? How do I have them stationary and in my determined spot (whereas they won't move)?

Hi Olivio, Thank you for Teaching us Affinity Photo. I have recently bought Afffinity Photo and I want to learn basic designing. At least I could print Passport Sized photo in Affinity Photo. Can you make a complete tutorial on How to make Passport Size photos same as people make in Photoshop. Like how to brighten up dark photos, skin retouching, background changing, hair fixing etc. And then some quick shortcut to create multiple photos for print. So that we can print at least passport size photo at home. I am sure you know better than anybody else. So please make one tutorial and let me know. Thank you.

Using the pen tool causes my app to crash. Both in Photo and Designer :(

Frustrating how that pen tool is not as usable as the Photoshop pen tool. Why do I have to fill a shape with a color before I can select it? Why can’t I do multiple shapes in the same vector curve? Would love to jump to Affinity Photo but the pen tool is just not useable in its current form. Hope they will update that tool soon.

I've tried using the pen/node tool....and after 7 hrs I got nuthin. I've tried tracing a hand drawn logo idea and I'm getting nowhere. The tutorial is OK, I guess, but actually using the tools is extremely hard. I've even tried using the demo of Affinity Designer and that is bordering on totally unusable. I have no intention, or patience, to create stunning art. Just simple logos, designs, etc. Guess I gotta stick with hand drawn?......
