Ok, to all of you who are dissing these people, the Burns' are some of my best friends. I used to go to church with them. I know them. They made this movie, not to prove what great actors they are, not to entertain people, not to say "Look at us, we made a movie practicaly in our backyard" - they made it to give glory to their God and mine, to show that God has a plan in everything He does. Sure, they didn't use accents and the graphics weren't as good as "Pirates", but they still did good.

Yes, this is an independent film. You're right, the film is meant to be entertaining to everyone, not just Christians, but it does have a positive Christian message. I hope it appeals to many people.

Okay, guys, for an independent movie made on less than a tenth of a million dollars, this is actually pretty good.

Solid trailer for your resources! I pray God continues to give you opportunities to work with film. My one piece of advice, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, would be to start smaller. I'm a new film maker, and I've started with small shorts, and have been learning the ropes of lighting, coaching actors, editing, audio, etc. My first film was about 5 minutes, my upcoming film is about 15. You have ambitious dreams, and don't let anyone get you down. Keep working ya'll.

Our schedule was too tight, and our crew too small to be able to use the Letus throughout the entire production (unfortunately). But the shots that did use the Letus look fabulous (for example, when the narrator says "but ambition stands in his way" we see a beautiful tracking shot of Cadyern with the background out of focus - it's shots like that which make the Letus a valuable tool.

Yes, I think you can look forward to seeing Pendragon at SAICFF 2009. We plan to complete the film in time to enter it in the "feature" category, where it will compete with the best. I really think it will exceed all expectations, by the grace of God.

Burns Family Studio is a family doing home movies in their own backyard and other places that they can find. Using money that people donate...think of them that way while watching it. That will make the movie look really good.

I was typing in Pendragon by DJ McHale out of sheer boredom and got all excited when I saw 'movie trailer'. So after full screen and turning the volume up I was frusterated thinking, "That's not how I imagines Bobby to look like but ah well.." Then got mad cause it turned out not to be Bobby Pendragon... *tear*

Oh my goodness, Aaron is normally so gentle (for a man), I would never have thought of him as playing the role of Artos the Bear. Just goes to show you never know. ;)

I was a camera operator and part of the crew for this film. It is still in production, but will hopefully be out later this year. It is produced by Burns Family Studios.

The team is working on it. We are taking audio very seriously as a major part of post-production. The trailer was put together last year very quickly. The final film will have much better audio.

Thanks for your comments. Half of the footage was shot with an XL-2, and half was shot with the XH-A1. Yes, we did use the Letus for part of the movie, however, it broke down part way through production. Even though it was eventually fixed, we decided not to continue using it because of the added difficulty of lighting and getting precise focus. Plus, trying to match two cameras, one with the Letus, and one without, was another challenge.

I got really excited for a minute thinking this was about my Pendragon. An awesome adventure series by D.J. MacHale. But alas, no such luck. Besides making a movie out of it would be near impossible. But I'd LOVE to have James Cameron have a crack at it. Only in my dreams.

Thank you for your comments. Four cameras have been used on this production: Canon XL-2, Canon XH-A1 (x2), and a Panasonic HVX-200. Our primary cameras right now are the two XH-A1s. The HVX is used for slow-motion shots. Thanks.

The acting was a little rough, but the incredible effort they put into this is definitely worth commending! Not many independent Christian films have attempted so much...well, at least that's what I think. :)

Today 9/20/08 the Pendragon audio team came to MELEE and recorded fighting noise to be used in the movie. My voice was used for dieing sounds.

Some people have the natural talent for accents...although...it would be hard to find more than 5 people who have that.

I don't think this movie has anything to do with DJ MachHale's Pendragon series. It seems to be more based around the time of King Arthur, who's acutal name was 'Arthur Pendragon' the name was not stolen from DJ MacHale.

This is quite good for a family made film. I would suggest that you have the film professionally mixed and color corrected to give a better "film feel" to the project. You should higher me to do it. I use Avid's Pro Tools for audio mixing and can color correct with Apple's Shake and Color programs.

This would have been a great King Arthur(Artos) flick with a better budget, cast, etc, etc. Check out Stephen Lawhead's 5 book Pendragon cycle ( a celtic take on Artos(Arthur))

Yes, some people do. It's not easy to find them though, and they'd likely ask for more money than the average amateur actor would.

@beaverlover22 I agree, but if you have a crappy script then the story irrelevant. Just based on the few things they said in the trailer, I think if they would've improved the script, made the actors use accents it woulve helped a lot (they chose those people to play the roles so you can't do much about the acting..). I havent seen in yet( I plan to) so I cant say anything for sure, but the shots you use and the way you edit something has nothing to do with the budget, for the most part anyway

Why does it bother you so much? I thought it was a great movie for its budget. And by the way, actors have to be trained in order to do a specific accent. Training takes time and money, and its likely that neither was in the budget.

well, having seen this, i have to say that it was not as bad as i thought the movie would be, Its very low budget, seeing as its actually a family that put it out. The acting was... tollerable when you remember who made it but the main female i do have to say was the worst of the lot. however, for a low budget, familiy made, filmed, acted, produced ect.. It could have been alot worse!! they didnt do that bad. I only enjoyed it cause i wasnt expecting it to be very good, but you will laugh

1. It cost them a lot more than $5 USD. 2. Accents are pointless. At least they didn't attempt an Old West accent, if that's what worried you. Keep in mind that just ten years ago, most Asian villains in Hollywood still spoke only English. 3. The second century would have been enough time for conversions, but cuts it close. 4. The pagan influence cam after, as there was a pagan resurgence in Britain during St. Patrick's era.
