Early morning at the Penefrancia church, Naga City Bicol. The day of the Traslacion procession and the excitement is building already. I was cycling to the hills when I came across pilgrims who had walked 100km in 5 days just to be in Naga for the Penefrancia festival. I changed my route and headed to the church, the shrine to Our Lady of Penefrancia. The church and streets surrounding the church and cathedral were alive with vendors, police, pilgrims and church staff preparing for this afternoon's procession. I have to hurry now to catch the procession after rushing back home to edit this video - such is life 😀.

I work in Makati..but my home is Naga and will always be 😊. By the way you know why Divino Rostro is being carried w along with the Virgin? The image of the Divino Rostro saved the Bicol Region from the colera morbo, deadly plague that killed many Tagalogs and Filipinos in Luzon. The image was from Spain and said to be saved many Spanish from the Black Death.
