Todos los españoles criticando su acento y diciendo que ellos hablan mejor que ella.. 1. A nadie le importa cómo habléis inglés vosotros , 2. Ella habla un inglés muy muy fluido y correcto, simplemente ha conservado el acento, y os lo digo yo que soy hispanocanadiense. Tan difícil es de comprender que haya decidido o no sea capaz de falsear su acento? A mí me parece precioso y significa que quiere conservar su esencia, parad ya con tanta crítica.. al fin y al cabo es ella quien está trabajando y viviendo en hollywood, ganando oscars y premios desde hace años y no vosotros!! Joder!

Penelope is my most favorite actress...she is original, authentic and really brought such passion in Hollywood like Banderas did...I hope she always stays well and strong to give us more films with her fabulous presence....

I totally agree with you. The problem we have in Spain when it comes to learning English is a very specific one: the teaching method (which leads to students being able to pass English exams but not being able to put a sentence together when they have to speak in English). Yes, students can PASS their English exams but when it comes to HANDLING a real conversation in English they are like: "Ehhh... Yes, yesterday I go to the beach and... eh... I have fun". Assembly line English.

I would like to add that most people in Spain learn British English. And you can not pick American English overnight, you see... A kid wouldn't have a problem, but for an adult it's not that easy, especially if you are working hard. Penelope's job is very demanding and she is always traveling (would be "travelling" in the Queen's English, btw) all over the world for her shooting, interviews, press conferences... always with a fresh smile on her face!

She is the most sophisticated and talented actress we Hispanics have in Hollywood and she is a true legend that makes us feel proud one film at the time she is natural and not superficial at all like many other Hollywood's actresses and her beauty is only equivalent to Audrey Hepburns in the modern Hollywood scene...Bravo Penelope!!

I love anonymous youtube commentators who feel they are such experts on everything. Penelope Cruz is one of the most natural actresses in front of the camera. I feel honored to be able to live in a time where I can witness her on film. She can be such a revelation.

Some people say that when you hear an accent so much--you'll get tired of it.. But I haven't---Not with Penelope Cruz. There's something about her that fascinates and captivates me and others. I loved the bit about how she had a burger after the awards in a dress.. :) there's something really special about her. :D

I saw her very first time in a movie " Vanilla sky" and I found her charmy rather than beautiful. I do agree that her accent makes her different from others celebrities, and unique. She is a good actress as well.

Well she speaks like 5 languages besides spanish and english. I saw vicky christina barcelona last night and got to meet her after because my father is an actor. She was the most humble person I could have ever imagined. She says to this day she is still afraid she is going be fired on a film and thinks of life as an adventure.

I love it when she corrects the pronunciation of "Barcelona" to a Castilian lisp. ;) I admire the way she started her US career speaking almost no English, and she has come very far towards proficiency. She speaks it better than a lot of Puerto Ricans. :D

Does she diserve an Oscar? Beyond her beauty, sexy accent, nationality or whatever, I think this girl manages to transmit feelings when she acts. She plays natural, easy, credible. It doesnt really matter if she won the Oscar or not, in my opinion, she is one of the best present actors all over the world.
