I live in Canada, and I've never lived where our downspouts are connected to underground drainage. I love watching you for the root removal; it's amazing watching how bad it gets! Here, we just have pine needles, pine cones, and maple keys that clog everything up on our rooves/downspouts, and if people aren't careful, start to grow in their eavestroughs! LOL

I imagine their downspouts are connected this way as I notice the homes don't have cellars for the pipes leading from house to drains or septic tanks I live in Western Massachusetts, USA and have a septic tank I have emptied every 4-5 years (1-person home), never had any problems but I also have a cellar.

90’s. The terror of all drainage mechanics. They should not even be made. In high flow systems, those become weak points. In lower flow systems those spots become blocks.

I've always felt that it's better to use two 45's than one 90 degree bend. 1 - it'll flow better 2 - it's better if you have to jet it years later.

Good job once again Gav. Dont know about you, but I hate 90 bends and square junctions as they tend to slow down the water flow and also make it difficult to clear when blocked. If they must be used then an I.O to surface should be installed. As previously mentioned, 45 junctions all the way!!

Did the Roo or the roots give you the hardest time? Look out roots, here come Gavin. Able to flush a blocked drain in a single day, more powerful that roots in a pipe, faster than a speeding Roo.
