**OPEN ME**
Today I wanted to share my thoughts and feedback on a knitting machine I purchased from Amazon. Because of 2020 in general, it's been hard to find Sentro or Addi Knitting machines, so I took a chance on one of the cheaper, vertical knitting machines available. I didn't love it for a number of reasons, the main one being a problem with the end result. I will link it below regardless in case it might serve your purposes, as well as some loom sets that I think might be a more preferable option if you're in the same boat as I am as far as wanting an easier method to knit small tubes and not wanting to hand-knit the entire thing. Obviously, this is just my opinion and experience and if you have input I'd love to hear it, especially if it can be helpful to other viewers.

I purchased one of these when a (large scale) haberdashery store, here in Australia, had a 40% off storewide sale after Christmas...I took it on my summer camping holiday to have a play with this summer...no1: the casting on..yup, THAT was difficult..you really need to feed through enough yarn to get you round for the casting on first...I created a board with a large hole in the middle to help hold a 40 pin (black and white) machine I'd also purchased during that transaction...now I've come to learn that THAT machine is not really so good due to the lack of pins for making adult size hats..no2: the ability to hold it...I did end up clamping it to the board I mentioned, but it did make it awkward for the project to feed through, though I managed...my first project I made was a water bottle carrier...made the body first then a long strap to carry it over your shoulder..it worked...I keep meaning to have another play with it, and I will...soon...

Clamping it to a board or table is such a smart idea, that would improve the experience a lot! I thought the tubes would be a good size for ear warmers (I hate when ear warmers are too wide), but I really just can't get it to knit smoothly. It's faster than hand knitting but so much worse quality 😫

Olhe o botão que muda de tubular para reto, tem que deixar ele todo para esquerda,com isso para esse travamento da manivela. Ele corre para o meio, por isso a manivela trava. Estou com a minha a 2dias, confesso estava decepcionada com esses travamentos da manivela, aí fiz essa descoberta e não travou mais. Testa ai! Ainda não testei a parte reta. Agora posso dizer que amei a compra😅, esse travamento tava me irritando 🙈. Tenta ai !😘

A fellow crocheter just gave me this machine. The instructions are in English and whatever language of the country it was made in BUT not very clear! 🤪FYI this is a Sentro made machine LOL or at least the one I got says so. I'm hoping I have success bc I make crochet dolls and I'd like to use it to make some accessories for them!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾I'm on the hunt for any help on how to use it this machine!💜💜💜I'm on IG if u are looking for new besties for your fave girl🥰💜

Mine didn't say it was a Sentro so I think my particular one was a knock off lol. Good luck with yours!! I used to make little ballgowns with my hat looms so I think you'll be able to make really awesome stuff with a loom

Oh wow! I don’t think I like the vertical ones but my horizontal works for me for personal use but idk about business products haha

I'm really curious if it being vertical messes with the weight distribution and causes the fabric to catch on itself. I really want to get a nicer machine in the future 😅😅

I bought it today in a second hand shop, it has not been used much by the previous owner, everything you mentioned above is true, it's frustrating me already, un even stitches, I should have bought a small Addi, I have a big Addi and it works really well, I just needed a smaller sized machine. Disappointed 😞

That's a bummer, I'm sorry you had a bad experience too. I think the Addi machines look worth it for the quality, I just don't really know if I would use it enough to justify the purchase. But who knows maybe I'd use the heck out of it because of the convenience 😂

Every once in a while I try to pull it out and find a way to make it useful, and then about an hour or so later it ends up back on the shelf and I remember why it stays there 🤣

I wish I had too 🤣 I tried a few more times after I posted the review but I couldn't get any success out of it. I wish I could because it would make simple projects so much faster, but not if I'm just constantly having to deal with the holes and knots it makes 😤 it's cute enough to keep as a decoration but I hate that it's not functional

I definitely should have, I guess I forgot or didn't think to. I know I included it in the tutorial on how to cast on with the machine, but it would have been helpful to show how the machine messes up in this video too. Sorry!

You have to take it slower then moc speed. Watch your stitches.

I think I had issues with it getting stuck when I was going slow, but Ill try again and see if anything has changex

I bought this and had exactly the same problems a really annoying machine that I grew to hate as I stared into the cold dead penguin eyes. My recommendation to anyone is DONT BUY!

After filming the cast on video I put it on a shelf since the penguin part is cute, but I really just keep looking at it and glaring at it for the audacity it has dropping stitches like that 🤣
