If you don’t know, then you don’t know - you’re seriously going to fault people for not knowing the same things as you because, news flash...they’re _not_ you. In school and up until now I always thought penguins only ever lived in the cold, because that’s the only thing I was ever told and shown, now I see that’s not the case. There’s a clear line between being honest and being a jackass...you’re the latter.

I did a project in science on African penguins a while ago! So with most casses the partner left to watch the eggs overheat and they leave to go to the sea. Sometimes a predatory bird gets them and sometimes its the heat. So rangers have built little houses for the penguins. So we had to design a little house and see which one would best prottect the eggs from both predators and the sun.

I don’t get it. Penguins choose to live in the most baazar places where their eggs can get killed by the Sun OR by the extreme cold below 0 degrees. Can they just adapt somewhere where life can be easier? They have to deal with predators already at least find a comfortable place to breed and rest geez.

They picked a bad time to dress up in tuxedos. Global warming will give these penguins a bad time, but it should give the emperor penguins in Antarctica a little break.
@tahakaleem1783
@tahakaleem1783 7 жыл бұрын
Michael McCarty no it won't, global warming will cause much of antarctica's ice to disappear and will cause more cataclysmic weather events. So emperor penguins have less land to live in and harsher storms to endure Oh yeah, these penguins in Africa will also suffer more
@michaelmccarty1327
@michaelmccarty1327 7 жыл бұрын
But the ice is what kills most penguin eggs. Surely the penguins would prefer a warmer Antarctica and their numbers will grow.
@tahakaleem1783
@tahakaleem1783 7 жыл бұрын
Michael McCarty increasing numbers are not good when territory is decreasing. Also, storms will kill many emperor penguins. It's the sad reality of climate change. You get warmer weather, but less territory and worse storms.
@tahakaleem1783
@tahakaleem1783 7 жыл бұрын
Michael McCarty oh yeah, the fish that the penguins depend on will also die off due to changing water temperatures, so that will dampen the penguins numbers
@michaelmccarty1327
@michaelmccarty1327 7 жыл бұрын
Kaleem All That sounds like an especially pessimistic prediction. Why would the fish die off? Even if some species prefer the colder water, wouldn't they be replaced with others from warmer waters? Also, my limited research lead me to believe that there would be fewer storms in a warmer climate due to atmospheric temperature differences being lower. Admittedly, those storms that do result will be more severe, but since the ice caps are the most drastically effected by global temperature increase, the storms that hit them will likely be warmer than those that hit it currently.

Faith 2019 wished there were some sort of biotechnology to protect them. If we could interfere with nature, we might as well protect them. After all, we were responsible for the extinction of hundreds of species, and no one bat shit against that. But offer to preserve them, and people will throw "DON'T INTEREFERE WITH NATURE" bullshit.

So sad. If the adults that stay behind can communicate and share work it would be better for everyone! If one adult can provide shade for 2 or 3 eggs, they can set up a rotation of providing shade and go cool off somewhere else.

Frozen Viking Now please use your brain. Some arctic region above the equator is the North Pole. Do penguins live there? No, they don't. If anything you'll find them around the South Pole which is below the equator.

If he says he has seen them in THE arctic regions he cant have seen them in SOME arctic region. The arctic region is around the northpole. I dont validate either because its just pointless, but you either misread or misunderstood Frozen Viking.

But how do they know they need to keep the eggs like this? Human would never know of their own how to feed and born a baby without someone showing or telling them how to do it. That's why animals are smart
