Love that tomi uses the expression the heritage my parents gifted me with. Love to see people feeling like their roots are a gift not just something they were born into and have to deal with. What a positive statement to hear from a young talented person. Loved the book and cant wait for more!!

The thing I love about both of the artist and I should say author is they both are in touch with who they are they're not sitting around trying to be a part of western culture they are part of western culture but they're not trying to get away from their Roots they went and found out who they were and they love that it's a lot of Middle Eastern people and people throughout the African continent because they all kind of Sit Close by each other and all kind of stuff like that that's at tonic plates I will say they understand that they are brown people to Brown women and they understand that they come in varieties do you know cuz some people who are Middle Eastern and black ourself haters and why I say that is because we don't like to admit it that in our cultures we have colorism issues because of colonialism and because we've been taught that the lighter is better and in the Middle East throughout Asia Africa we skin bleach that's just what it is not me but majority of us do because we've been taught we're not good enough and then we shun the darker skin tone people of our family and we praise the lighter skin tone which is bad you know it's not right but that is what happens and we can all connect on that way we can connect and I'm going to try to buy both of the books because I find a very interesting and I find it beautiful that both women are self-aware and woke to who they are and what they are and people thought the way both of these women thought we wouldn't have colorism not communities we can better function we can better solve the problems in our communities because in the Middle East and in parts of Africa Asia we deal with war violence and all kinds of things

*****dont red this comment if you don’t want spoilers for children of blood and bone***** WILL INAN SURVIVE OR DID HE ACTUALLY DIE AND HIS POWERS MOVED TO AMARI
@Nuttso88

I think he was still alive at the end. Saran didn't do the finishing blow and it wasn't explicitly stated that Inan was dead, although it can be assume. As for Amari gaining his powers, not so sure yet. I think it might be the birth of her own because I don't remember Inan doing what Amari did with her hands. I can't wait to find out though
