@Zebra It's not that it'd be bad, but if I recall correctly, she was born with a rare disease and had to go through surgery at a very very young age! So it's good to see how much she's grown and how strong and healthy she seems to be. It tells us she's recovered very well from all the things she went through! edit: I say this also because I had a kitty that was very ill when she was young, and because of that she never really grew much. She was about half the size of her siblings as an adult, but was fortunately very healthy and lived a long and happy life! We pampered her quite a bit because of how smol she was

Another red flag for a psychopath is a child that “tortures” toys for fun. That’s actually an often overlooked precursor to abusing animals. The crazy kid that got arrested for threatening to bring his dad’s pew-pew to my high school was real big on dismembering his sister’s dolls when he was younger. Then he graduated to tormenting bugs, the any small animals he could get his filthy hands on. Parents, pay attention to your kids play habits!

That sentencing was basically "I know that an innocent person has died and you have other criminal charges stacking up but here's a slap on the wrist. Oh, and if you're well behaved in prison then you'll probably do much less". No wonder the father says it was "unresolved". Because there's really no resolve for this.

there was a bad car crash in my town a couple weeks before we moved into our new home, drunk driver hit a car with teens in it, killed 2. when we walked into the house for the first time, it smelled like a funeral parlor because of all of the flowers. The woman who was living there before us was the mom of one of the kids who died in the crash. Couple weeks after moving in, we got mail addressed to the kid and mom, lots of colleges reaching out to him to get him to apply, maybe some acceptance letters. The worst one was a bill though. The bill from the ambulance that came to pick them up.

I think another big testament to Oki's documentary making skills is the fact the family was willing to talk to him. You see award winning film documentary directors get snubbed by victims' families because of their insensitive approach to the crimes involved. Knowing that the family are happy to work with a documentary maker says a lot about the behind the scenes discussions, and the intent of the documentary maker.
@maxwashere.
@maxwashere. Жыл бұрын
that was my same thought when i first started watching oki. i generally try to avoid true crime content without the green light from the victims family and it’s refreshing to see someone with this much respect for the victims. really wish this was the norm for the genre but when there’s money to be made who has time for empathy?

@@maxwashere. if true crime content had to get the "green light" from family, the victims stories may NEVER be told. I have followed true crime since I was a teen and I think it's pretty obvious when you come across a tragedy pimp that is trying to make money or a name off the backs of victims, and when someone wants to tell their story. I'd NEVER want content creators to bother the victims family to get "the green light" every time someone wants to tell their story. That's just grossly intrusive and traumatizing them all over again. If the family wants to be involved, then that's always a plus, but I think bugging families is just a big giant no. Tell the story, be true to the victim and don't try to sensationalize the story, but at the same time, don't censor the story either. Which a HUGE pet peeve of mine, when someone tells the story, but won't talk about what the victim went through.... Like that's going to change anything.... It doesn't, it just gives people the chance to sympathize with the killer by NOT talking about what they did to another human. It minimizes what the victim went through by not talking about the worst part of what was done to them. If you're going to tell the story of the victim, tell the whole story or don't tell it at all, but don't hide what was done to them. It's such a disservice to what a victim went through.
@Em22-wtf
@Em22-wtf Жыл бұрын
@@thenarrator6846 ya, not really. Don't bug families of victims every time a creator wants to tell their story. Could you imagine how many TIMES a family member would have to be traumatized every time a content creator wanted to get their story out there? After a while, you'd just be a pest.

Daniel beckwith was so paranoid that he made askia put on a blindfold whenever he was brought through the house into the basement. He was led through the hoarding maze that was setup so that if you didn't know the way out it would literally take forever. When the fire broke out the smoke was super heavy so he had to crawl through the maze of junk which often purposely led to dead ends. Daniel attempted to rescue Askia by calling his name and screaming for him to get out but the fire was spreading so fast that Daniel ran out of the house. Askia eventually made it to a basement window but discovered there were bars on it that prevented him from escaping the flames so he stood there screaming for help then fell backwards into the fire and died a horrible death.

I remember this vividly from Blab. It was wild how a lot of people in the Blab community celebrated Daniels existence (3alarmlampscooter) because he was so smart & connected to the Martin Shkreli streams. People would idolize this man and convince Askia that he was an intelligent person who was almost 'God-like'. It was ridiculous. People were so into the idea of him building tunnels and being 'as smart as Martin'. I'm telling it like it is, I witnessed him show his explosives and talk about ideas of building tunnels to access underneath government places to bomb them or monitor them. He showed his tunnels several times in streams and coerced people to believe a grandiose identity. He is a very dangerous man and I'm very concerned that he managed to get away with what he has done to Askia & the motives behind his actions were close to terrorism, but now he is a free man. Sad world & RIP Askia & big love to anyone in the Blab community affected by this. - Elethal

By “not resolved,” the guy, I’m assuming the father, meant that there is no justice in the case-the man still died in a fire, so no conviction of Daniel will bring Askia back. None of the charges pertained to Askia’s death because he voluntarily worked for Daniel and died in an accident, so the guy/father will not get justice for Askia’s avoidable death. Also, screw Daniel. I can’t believe he assigned the blame to Askia for failing to find a window without bars. How can this guy not accept culpability in this death? If this guy didn’t have a hoarder house, Askia could have fled to safety; also, if he didn’t build a pointless bunker under his house, Askia would never have been there. As of now, I can’t exactly say it’s a murder because there is no irrefutable evidence of motive and method, but it was entirely avoidable.

Charlie seems to write it off as a phobia but it's clear to me this man has a lot more going on than a simple fear of apocalypse. I agree that his bunker was a manifestation of his paranoia but it's ridiculous to insinuate that wanting a bunker is weird. The way he went about building the bunker is what's weird. 11:00 Personal opinion: it’s completely rational to be afraid of nuclear bombs and build a bunker. Being afraid of planes is one thing but being afraid of world ending bombs is on whole other league. For most people they have the choice whether they want to go on a airplane and it’s not like a airplane is going crash down on a neighborhood and kill a family, nuclear bombs on the other hand are completely out our control, also nuclear bombs are a very real subtle threat if used in war would end the world. Now the chance of a nuclear attack is super low, but it’s never going to be zero since no country with nuclear weapons is going to completely get rid of them. It’s the whole reason NATO was founded so If the Soviet Union were to attack the U.S would retaliate with nuclear bombs. If I was a super rich person I would have a bunker built just in case so that my loved ones could survive, now I wouldn’t be super paranoid and wear a bulletproof vest but nuclear bombs are really completely out our hands and with tensions between the major powers of the world, it would take one powerful dumb idiot with nothing to lose to send a nuke and end the world Edit: now this guy in the video is a piece of shit and super dumb since the whole point of a bunker it to make sure YOU and hopefully your loved ones are safe and secure, and can’t really have that when everybody knows your location and layout.

This man will definitely re-offend if this case doesn't change. The abuse of animals, absence of empathy & general creepy/menacing behavior like duct taking Askia's eyes.. Seems pre-meditated esp w/ his history & the testimonies of those who grew up with him. RIP Askia, I hope justice if reached someway somehow.

Beckwitt went to my college and lived in the same dorm as me. He was a bit of a odd guy, didn't seem to have many close friends there, but I remember him talking up bitcoin around the time it started. When these stories came out a few years ago, my friends and I were astounded at how insane things got.

Tbh I think Charlie’s take on the nuclear thing would be perfect literally a year ago. Most of the large countries with nuclear capability have literally been threatening to drop nukes the last few months.

I would love if we all got up and shoved these "leaders" into a room, give them two broken pool cues and tell them to settle their differences like men. Hell I wish all arguments between world leaders happened like this instead of by threatening the lives of innocent people.

Even with a bunker you wouldn't survive greatly a real modern nuclear war probably

My brother is a year younger than me and has been preparing our family for any type of event that could potentially cook us. He invested in a 40$ first aid kit, he keeps canned foods and water in his room in the basement, bought a bulk of blankets he keeps put away and is mentally always prepared for something to go down. My family picks on him for it but I know the day we need it will be the day they regret talking all that cash shit. He’s not building tunnels and mapping out the nearest silos but he is prepared and tbh I’d rather be prepared than be dead
