The Thanos we see in the movie is from 2014, he hasn't made the sacrifices he had in IW to gain those infinity gems, he just had to conquer it from the Avengers, having seen the events that played out using Nebula's memories he became arrogant and basically quoting Jung, “be careful of unearned wisdom " we can clearly see that he is not the visionary he would have become, free from bias and temptation, but rather an arrogant, prideful and powerful tyrant.

I agree with everything except for Thanos 1.0's death. It makes perfect sense. That's who his character was. He didn't care what happened to him as long as he successfully "saved" the universe. The fact that his death was so anti-climactic was very realistic. They were too late so it didn't matter.

Dude when you rewatch this movie watch that farm scene again. He’s not depressed, he’s just done. That scene shows that he didn’t do it for himself. He didn’t even fix his leg or his face and he gained nothing from the stones. It showed that he truly thought what he did was right. But I do agree that later on he is underwhelming. I wanted to see thanos with some of the infinity stones but we just got him fighting without it. It was just a weaker thanos.

I liked the part where Vasily Kamotsky slapped Thanos so hard the timeline reset itself. It was definitely a fun and realistic way to get the MCU back on track.

As a long time marvel fan I enjoyed the beginning of the movie just as much as the end battle. I thought it was good that they took so much time for character development instead of rushing it just to get more action, but I can still see why people (especially not longtime marvel fans) might find it boring but for me it was just great

I think the reason endgame isnt as amazing or “epic” as infinity war is because, as any movie, there is a cycle. With a move there is a buildup, climax, and closing, which winds down the story and make it come to an end. All of the MCU up to infinity war was the buildup. Infinity war was the climax, spoiler alert, thanos won. Endgame was the closing where the dealt with the affects of the climax, saved the day, and went back to living a normal life. I think it was an almost perfect ending to an 11 year long story.

*spoiler* Keep in mind that the Thanos we see is a 5 year younger version of Thanos. Clearly Thanos is a mastermind who thought his plan through, but he also has less experience. 5 years is 5 years; so inevitably he is going to be that much more naïve than his counterpart of present day Thanos. Thanos even shows this by wielding his weapon that for the entire of infinity war it seems like he has given up on. This is also a Thanos that has avoided the effects of the snap as he went to the present. So we can Theoretically give two reasons for Thanos having a different personality via the story. It is an alternate reality Thanos created by said "side effects" of time travel that they explained in the movie, or it is a younger and more naïve version of present day Thanos.

The best scene was when superman went toe to toe with grape favor doomsday.

I actually loved the fact that it was slower in the beginning, it made it more of a complex story. I thought the 3 hours would drag on, but I was totally enthralled the whole time and they made it interesting without being boring

I loved the slow burn!!!

Honestly I'm glad it took a while for the movie to pick up. People at my theater were fucking around on their phones, talking and funneling in late throughout the first 30 or so minutes. Takes a while for a theater to settle down. Also, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to write this movie in a way that keeps us all on our toes, since Dr. Strange said that this is the only way to save everyone, so in the back of our minds, as viewers, we'll always be aware that they win in the end. Everything had to line up perfectly, while also making sense in that regard, whilst keeping people's attention through the whole movie. A pretty daunting task, if you ask me.
