Tbh black rabbit 2 is actually a really good example of a gank fight because they take turns and only attack at once if you get close to the inactive ones.
@catwiffhat42746 ай бұрын
also the other brothers will say a quote when they're about to gank you (unless you get too close to them like you said), even when you can't them you still know how to respond. It's a great gank fight but people in general don't like those fights so they just write it off. I'd say it's basically Shadows of Yharnam but better.
@couchpotato56576 ай бұрын
Did you not get hit by their throwing items? I hated their rematch since every time I was focusing on one of them the other would chuck knives, or grapple me to the other side of the arena. Was that changed after launch or something
@sirensoulegaming41586 ай бұрын
@@couchpotato5657 they do still use the throwing items, but the thing is, like in black rabbit brotherhood fight 1, if you focus only on the guy going super aggro on you, the others tend to play quite passively. It's far better to deal with throwing items or the odd grappling hook than all 3 wailing on you. I don't think BRB 2 is an amazing fight (tbh I think it's the most disappointing boss battle in the entire game, save for maybe corrupted parade master) but it's also a very fair fight. You get the "oh s***" moment initially that you're 1v3 but nothing in that fight is really all that bad. Romeos fire combo and Laxasia's everything are way harder to deal with. Honestly the most annoying thing about black rabbit brotherhood round 2 is the rrun leading up to the fight. Edit for clarity: the reason why the fight is disappointing is because it never lives up to the "oh s***" moment. Particularly when the eldest revives, i was expecting a really difficult fight. Was super disappointed when it was just a rehash of chapter 5 eldest, except with like 2 new attacks and his weapon already broken. Very disappointing climax, and doesn't appropriately hype you up for what the alchemists are capable of.

This. They're not as frustrating as some of Souls and Elden Ring gank bosses.
@dirac_dydx18306 ай бұрын
@@catwiffhat4274 I think Shadows of Yharnam is a "better" fight because their movesets are perfectly designed to complement one another so they can all aggro on you without it feeling unfair, which is really a great technical achievement on FromSoft's part, but I really do love the BRB fights. I find them way more fun than the Shadows, or most gank fights apart from O&S. But I have to give credit where credit is due; Shadows are amazingly well-designed.

@ExacoMvm5 ай бұрын
For me the parrying in this game makes barely any sense because you have to memorize the animations e.g. press parry when the elbow is bent "x" degrees rather than pressing it before the attack lands due to bad hitboxes and timing since I always miss the parry even if I know the attacks, so I just roll dodge like it's Elden Ring.

Some bosses had no sound or visual Qs before they hit and sometimes the animations were the same for when they either winded up for 8 years or they hit you right away. So it was a matter of learning by death. And I still beat it by parrying. But before the nerfs alot of it was undeniably bs.

@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 I'd say Lies of P is like a mix of Sekiro and Bloodborne. It's fast and you get those quick dodges but there's also a sort of Sekiro-like rhythm to the attacks as you parry them. Your deflects have to be fast and it's one after another there's no insta-stagger after a parry like in classic souls. It is closer to Bloodborne though I'll give you that, for us at least. I only really deflected when I felt like it, you can do the entire game with just dodges. Sekiro doesn't give you any room for that. I think it would be more Sekiro-like if I had committed to deflects though.

This is the only game I've gotten 100% where I didn't start to feel bored after multiple playthroughs. I goofed one ending so I had to go through 4 times and I never got tired of it. It's the best Soulslike I've played, with the caveat that I've yet to play DS3 or Bloodborne. DS3 was crashing for some reason so I took a break and Bloodborne is PS4. I'd probably love them too.

I watched Charlie doing this live. It was fun watching him having fun with this game. A Korean company making the souls-like for the first time and you can tell that all of the people involved in the production had actually played all FromSoft originals as they took the widely acclaimed parts of those games together in their own game. Many souls-like games falter because those games are made by majority of people that didn't play FromSoft games, and only going through the checklist of things instead of coming from genuine appreciation for FromSoft games. No wonder this game succeeded where others faltered majorly.

It's a souls copy in the sense that it mimics the style and design philosophy of Fromsoft and their souls-like games, but it's completely unique in it's own way, the same way Darksouls is different from Bloodborne. @zacharyjackson18296 ай бұрын
the way i see it, it takes the best attributes of souls but adds just enough spin to it to make it unique enough they cant be sued but where they really go ham is just taking an existing character, creating an overall simple theme, and performing well based on that theme. The story is good enough that if a show came out with the same basic premise i wouldn't mind watching it. I'd say narratively it certainly isn't the most amazing story but it didn't need to be. Bloodbourne had more interesting lore and themes.
