Just bought the 3000 dx at ace hardware for 129. They have the 2500 3000 and 4000 for the same price . I hope it works good

After using it for some time. How is the line lay with the both of them? If I recall. The spool on the original battle just sits on the shaft with some Teflon washer/shim. If you get spooled by a fish. I notice it wear the shim and ur line lay goes out the window. But im curious how the dx handles and if the line lay Is any better? Could you chime in on that? Thanks and love the vids!

Hey brother! I'm planing to get Battle 3 DX, but in my local shop they got only size 4000 up, but it too big for me (I want 3000 size). I wonder is 4000 size way bigger than 3000? or slightly bigger

In the smaller reels, the Dx is the way to go. In the larger reels, size 6000 and up, the only difference between them is the color. I own a Battle 3 size 8000. It has the brass gear, and the round eva power handle. I'm not sure if it has that bearing at the bottom of the spool though. I'm guessing it probably does, my reel has 30lbs of drag.

It’s sucks they dropped the spool bearing from the battle 2 on the battle 3, but offer it on the more expensive version.. plus they no longer have the aluminum rotor like on the battle 2. I just disassembled and greased my battle 3 3000 and honestly I’m not super impressed. It sounds / feels crunchy and isn’t nearly as smooth as my battle 2. I expected it to clear up after the break in period but it’s quite a bit worse.

Hello sr, iam in drone fishing, looking for more than 8000 capacity. I have an offer of a new spinfisher vi 9500 for 199usd and for the other hand a 160usd Penn battle 3 dx 8000. Wich would be a better reel? Thanks

They don’t carry them. You’ll have to go to a smaller dealer. Sam’s Bait and Tackle in Orange Beach has them

Dealer only version? I just got a 6000 DX for $119 out the door on AliExpress. I guess there are genuine Penn dealers in China, after all, that's where it is made.
