your redo saves us the redo-thank you for showing these fine details .Its a worthy hobby.I have a Penn mod 349 both plates good.master mariner-2 lever black sides-mechanically sound.There are no cracked rings previous barely used it.left braided dacron onthe spool for yearsnow there is green corrosion onthe skinney spool.I dont believe its ever been apart. Iwill be glad to sell it for a reasonable price.

You are correct about parts getting scarce. It’s next to impossible to find a non-drive side outer ring. Nice explanation on the steps.

How old are these No" 49 models. I bought a second hand for $20. I chose it over brand new reels which were going for $100 and more because the quality of of this N0" 49 seems great.
