Hello there!
I hope all of your weeks are going well!
I dedicate this song to my Grandmother. I love her very much, and heaven received another beautiful angel this morning. Rest in peace, Grandmom. I love you.
"Pennies from Heaven" was written by Johnny Burke and Arthur Johnston for a 1936 movie by the same name. Billie Holiday also released a version of this song in 1936.

This just popped into my inbox - and I am amazed at this utterly. utterly beautiful rendition of a timeless classic - I'm now 68 years on this planet, and I have NEVER heard this song perforned like this - it brought tears to my eyes, and to perform it in memory of your late grandmother is very moving.

A lot of the songs you cover remind me of my Grandma. They remind me of days sitting by her on the pianola as she'd show me the music she listened to as a younger lady. I miss her but songs like these make me smile for having been shown that side of life. Your grandmother must be crying you pennies of joy from heaven for the beautiful gift you've made for her..

Dear Allison, Congratulations for this beautiful cover. While listening to you singing and especially playing the piano, I couldn't stop smiling. Classy vibe, could be taken from a vinyl from 1930's, astonishing! Later I listened to other versions of Pennies from Heaven, from Lou Prima, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Billy Holiday... and I liked your version most! Quite an achievement, I think! Your piano arrangement was really beautiful. I hope you do more stuff like that. Sincerely impressed Peter

Allison Young, I nearly did not watch this video when it showed up in my subscription list because I never liked it or anything else Bing Crosby sang when I was growing up. I wish I knew how to describe what it is about how you perform it that has changed my opinion of the song, and make me like Bing Crosby that much less for the way he did it originally. The words "distilled" and "pure" come to mind. You present the essence of the song, devoid of any clutter. So much easier to enjoy listening to it that way, not to mention how interesting you make its presentation visually. You pay so much attention to details. Thank you.

Just my opinion from someone who has been listening to this type of music for many years and has listened to many of hers: She has the talent, the voice, the looks, but needs an A list voice coach to bring her to the level you are talking about. Someone who can bring out her strengths and shore up her weaknesses. I wonder if she has auditioned for The Voice.

Heaven's latest beautiful angel will be delighted to see you smiling again. 💐My sincere condolences for your loss. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Actually, since pennies are so light and flat they the air resistance keeps them from falling too quickly. On top of that, Mythbusters made a gun which fired pennies at speeds up to 65 MPH (faster than a penny would fall from the Empire State Building) at dummies made of ballistic jell with little to no damage. So the song would probably be as nice as it sounds.

@@kirkskywalker1701 It's worth noting, though, that in a rainstorm of pennies the first ones would take the wind resistance but they would take that away from the rest.
