i have a question as a beginner penpal. do you send the letter in the final envelope you showed (with all the stickers and tape and wax seal) or do you put it in a separate one so the stuff you did on the fancy envelope doesn't get ruined? thanks!

What is the origin of people including a separate question list and a playlist? I've only recently seen pen pal videos and it seems like so many people do this. I did penpaling in the 90s and 2000s and I've never heard of this til now. Is it just a trend that started? Is it considered proper etiquette?
