Really fascinating and well thought out summary, as usual. This may be discussed further in the next video, but I did have a question regarding Sailhammer's views on background information. Would the argument that background information being unneeded extend to historical context on the time the text was being written? I was wondering because in your recent video on Robert Fyall's book on Job: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jbd7lbtorNjVkqc.html You mention the Behemoth being understood by the people of the ancient world as a figure of unorder, and not an actual monster. This seems like the sort of thing that would require some historical background to understand. Hope this question makes sense and I'm not misunderstanding you, or Sailhammer. As I said, really nice video, excited for Part II.

To be honest, this book sounds fascinating. With that being said, I am not entirely sure I understood everything correctly: Did Sailhamer think Moses wrote the Pentateuch, or was that just a figure of speech/irony?
