Never noticed before but when Kirsten is singing, her vibrato matches perfectly with Kevin playing the cello and the vibrato he is producing as well. Absolutely magnificent!

As someone who can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, I find Kevin beyond impressive. They are all so very talented and truly have elevated a capella to the highest art form. They all know who and when to shine in any given piece of music. I would love to hear you react to RunTo You (an original, with Avi) and Come Along. Plus the Popspring performance gives you 3 originals plus the Evolution of Michael Jackson medley.

OMG, you have barely scratched the surface of PTX performances. Here's three more you should do soon. 1. Their earliest original "sing". 2. Imagine, perhaps their most impressive song. 3. Amazing Grace - My Chains are Broken. Then you will have only about 175 more performances to do, with not a single bummer in the entire group.

The black-and-white videography, with the pops of gold color from jewelry and fixtures, is an homage to the movie posters, which were all black-and-white with the only color being the gold lettering in "A Star Is Born".

They have over 11 years of "big ones" for real.. Yes Kevin (beatboxer) is an accomplished cello player (he pinned the term cello-boxing!) along with so many other amazing things about him.. whenever they include any instrument, it is always obvious and in plain view.

The dude who does the beatboxing plays the cello. 😉 That's Kevin! The guy that does the bass is named Matt, he is the one on the far left in the video. Great reaction! I prefer PTX to any of the other acapella groups. Just my preference. Thank you for this content!

Great reaction. Many Pentaholics say that PTX doesn’t do covers, they do upgrades. I like this version better than the original cause I feel more passion in their voices. In case you’re not aware, Scott found Kevin on You Tube featuring cello beatboxing and the performance had more than 900,000 views. Kev was premed at Yale before joining PTX. They are all so freakishly talented, God given. 💕

I was lucky enough to see their Christmas concert live this year - absolutely amazing! I think they are even better live; they all seem to get so much energy and enjoyment from the audience. It was a full-on, completely entertaining SHOW! Thanks for reacting to this wonderful cover!

Yes, if you are an Imagine Dragons fan or Lindsey Stirling fan, you must see her collaboration with PTX of Radioactive. They absolutely kill it! It won Lindsey a KZfaq music award in 2014. Occasionally, Kevin plays his cello (named Beyonce) in PTX videos, but not often. They have done at least three videos with Lindsey, as well as a Wizard of Oz spoof, named Wizard of Ahhhs, with Todrick Hall. If you haven't seen that one, you absolutely must watch it.

Every once in a while Kevin will play his Cello in a song and it just makes it better. He also beatboxes at the same time while playing the Cello which is mind-blowing, the term Cello-boxing was created after Kevin, who is a master Cellist. He plays in their cover of "Radioactive" which is killer.

Looks like you haven't done Imagine or Amazing Grace yet....those are other big ones. Also, consider checking out some of their originals! For really upbeat orginals try Sing and Coffee in Bed. For a really hauntingly beautiful one try Run to You. For a great LIVE experience try their 2016 Popspring concert, which has 4 songs: the Evolution of Michael Jackson plus three originals (Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, and Water). It was recorded by MTV, so the quality is excellent!

Its wow, new rules x are you somebody , Can you feel the love tonight( lion king) rather be, come along, “Gold” is 🔥 it’s a Kiera cover and a masterclass in pitch and timing. “Sing”. Rather be. If you want to see beatboxer Kevin blow your mind , check out his cover of Down on his channel. Kevin Is a classically trained cellist who invented cello / boxing. He has perfect pitch, graduated from Yale Pre Med. Spent a year plus in China and speaks fluent Mandarin. His gifts are insanely numerous , suffice to say he is a gift to all of us , and check out his channel playing “Down”. . It’s a mind melter 🤯🤯🤯

They found Kevin via viral video of him ‘cello boxing’. His channel is absolutely time well spent appreciating. Also don’t overlook his celloboving with PTX on ‘Say Something’, ‘Radioactive’ and ‘Over the River’, and more. Their catalog is deep and the variety is wide

Kevin invented Cello boxing, music professors are now studying this in videos of them. That’s actually how the trio found Kevin, from a KZfaq video that hit almost a million views in (2011 which is really significant) and they reached out to him and asked them to join the group and tryout for The Sing Off, an a cappella TV competition. He was pre med at Yale. They found Avi through a mutual friend. Crazy how far they’ve come from that.

Thanks for reacting to this song. I loved it. One thing, though. I haven't seen Matt (the bass singer) get a solo in a long time. In VoicePlay and Home Free, their bass singers almost always get a solo in each song.

It's not too terribly often, but sometimes they bring Kevin in on his Cello. They do so just to add a "supportive element" . . . They could drop the Cello and still hold the entire song on their own 5 voices/beatboxing. You will see "Beyonce" (the Cello's name) show up here and there, but never in a FULL role. . . simply an extra added element added for fun.

Subbed to join you in the Rabbit Hole that is PTX, you are in f or a wild ride. ANYTHING they do is phenomenal, choose anything from their catelog of over 200 songs and you can't go wrong. I haven't yet found something they have done that I haven't liked! If you want to see wh at they can do live, I would suggest 'Aha' from Singapore Star Vista, check out the official video for it as well. Come Along is so upbeat and poppy, for something a bit more somber t ry their 'Say Something' or 'Mad World', or 'Need A Little Space'.

They are amazing :-) some suggestions; Making Christmas (yes I know it's not Halloween or Christmas, but it's great!) and My Favourite Things, also Come Along - all of these are upbeat songs. New songs and to see what they are experimenting with, Anchor (a Mitch lead, no music video), or Petals (no music video)....cover of Cheerleader, No, Problem.... so many songs!

Kevin is ridiculous. If you watch him in Hallelujah, there’s a point where he’s beatboxing, stomping, and clapping/beating his chest all at the same time. I could practice a gazillion hours and never be able to do that.
