Shooting on film for the first time was a daunting, but really fun thing to to try. I know that most of what I've made on KZfaq has been about stock photography, and so I've been trying to find ways that develop (no pun intended) more depth to my photography skills.
The Pentax K-1000 is a great student camera, and it's something I'm really happy I got the chance to buy. The photos are really fun to go through once they're developed, and the look of them is exactly what I'd hoped for.
I want to shoot on more types of film, and to do more photography with living breathing people again. Ah, I remember people, perhaps I'll see them again one day. But it is not this day.

@@OllyKing I have been shooting black and white using Ilford HP5 Plus and developing it at home using CineStill home kit. Development and home scanning is another rabbit hole of expense you can go down. For color, I am just using Fuji Color 200.

I relate to a lot of what you said as I also just got my K1000. Same motivation but I am still to retrieve my first roll from the lab, which I honestly think is going to be humbling but motivating. Thanks for sharing your experiences/

i just got my pentaxk1000 yesterday paid $175 for it first film camera and got the original bag with 2 lenses excited to shoot today!

That’s awesome! It’s a really fun one to use! I only had some minor difficulties with focusing, the light meter worked really well as long as I kept it cantered.

I like your commentary on the camera and photography in general. Shooting on film does indeed make you slow down and think about the shot, as you might only get one chance at the picture. Also, I relate to your remarks about rescuing digital photos in post-editing. I only shoot jpegs, and perhaps make a minor adjustment on some pics for brightness or shadows. Otherwise, I try to get it right even on digital cameras, which has helped me when using a film camera. Keep up the good work!

Most people don't print film photos you can get scans and edit them in Lightroom if you wish

I started in film as there was no choice at the time I started in photography. I started with a K1000 then went to a ME Super I kept ASA 400 film in one and ASA 1500 in my other as my second camera was a Pentax ME Super Program. I bought my first DSLR in 2005 a Pentax *istDL I still own and use as it still works and I' ve had no problems. I then a Pentax K50 then K70 and a K3-11. I bought a whole Pentax film kit with M42 lenses and a Pentax Spotamatic the lens are a 35mm3.5, 50mm1.4, 135mm3.5 and a zoom 100-300mm The light meter does not work on the Spotmatic so I use a Minolta light meter. I still prefer Digital as it is a so much easier than film. Most pro photographers will tell you if they get four good pictures a month there happy. I still in some respects photograph with digital like I did with film as I just recently started using burst mode as I'm still used to thinking each picture costs

Currently using this camera for my A level work in photography and my teacher suggested to use creative auto on my DSLR before taking the shot so I can put the correct settings into the analog camera

Wow really love your content this is awesome . What is your preferred editing software you use for videomaking , I'd love to have a conversation and maybe even collaborate on different methods in telling stories through film!
