If you try that you'll find you get a very different reaction, as other commenters have described. The disconnect between the video and reality is that in the vid people are told they're beautiful in an implicit way, much the same way as jokes are told. When people realize the implication and that it's a compliment, they react as they would react to a joke. This is in the end a test of people's sense of humour, it's not purely a test of their reaction to a compliment.

I cried watching this video. It's so heartbreaking to see the impact calling someone beautiful has and realizing how cold and heartless the world currently is. Adding to the fact that the new generations keep growing ever so distant, suspicious and paranoid of others. It's too much to bear. Seeing this video provides some medicine to help with the pain of reality.
@pereiraplaza2222 жыл бұрын
The world has ALWAYS been a cold heartless place. Nowadays even less than before. Imagine how cold and heartless it was 600 years ago, or in the Roman empire just to name 2 random examples.

In the vid people are told they're beautiful in an implicit way, much the same way as jokes are told. When people realize the implication (you can see the 'spark' when it happens), they react as they would react to a joke. This is in large part a test of people's sense of humour, it's not purely a test of the effect of a compliment.
@Weaseltube2 жыл бұрын
@@pereiraplaza222 It's odd that when we describe 'the world' that way we mean humanity, when in fact it's is the natural world that is most cruel and uncaring while people are the only source of empathy and compassion in life. That's what it mean to be 'humane'. Yet a growing movement thinks society should revert to the simple but raw laws of nature, mostly in the form of Libertarians. They've given up trying to understand and exploit all the mutual benefits that can accrue from complex communal action, rejecting it entirely in favour of free unfettered competition over everything. THAT is the real saddening part of humanity right now. But it's always good to remind ourselves that as much as humanity has screwed things up since industrialization, we remain the main - or perhaps only - source of goodness in 'the world'.

@@partizanbear552 you're referring to the physical standards of beauty. I understand that, but what others observed here is different. It's the beauty that comes from vulnerability both in the interviewer and the spontaneous reactions that come when those people are told they are beautiful. It is a beautiful thing to watch and many folks here are caught up in the moment of seeing that simple gesture. But you'll notice that the women who tend to be of the objective high physical beauty brush the 'beautiful' comment off with much less reaction, coz they've been told that by boys a million times. To others interviewed who may not have been told they are beautiful for years, there is a stronger emotional response, resulting in those spontaneous smiles etc. So it's our observing of those reactions that makes for such rewarding viewing and a connection with those people you only get when you're spontaneous and surprise people with compliments.

Over time, people become aware of whether or not other people find them attractive or not and, the more people they encounter, and the more responses, to their interactions with those people, they interpret, they begin to develop an idea of whether the average of the population they've encountered finds them attractive or not. Some people are not used to it because, on average, the people they've encountered don't respond in a way that would lead them to believe those people find them attractive. This experiment shows one thing: people's responses show whether or not they believe it, and whether or not they believe it is because they're conditioned by their encounters with other people.

Reality is often dissapointing(thanos) no matter how beautiful this video is we would all comeback in reality. Such a heart warming video. And see the beauty of human nature.! Every single person who was not looking that 'beautiful' before they were told they look beautiful, started looking beautiful suddenly. That's the power in positivity which can make a person or a situation drastically different & make a person do something that even he himself didn't believe was possible. Keep appreciating. Stay positive.! 😊
