What action would people take if they witnessed such a moment?

the first man was a true hero you can just hear it from the way he raise his voice that he was both furious at this young man whom wanted to throw his life away yet you can feel how much he cared for him even though they're both complete stranger, even gave him his bussiness card and said to call him anytime.

Just under 2 years ago, I was in this very situation. Something happened to me with my ex that broke me so much I couldn’t even believe it was true. I thought I was dreaming and I couldn’t wake up. I found myself on top of a bridge above a busy train line just crying in the early hours of the morning. I don’t even remember how I got there, or what may have happened because of my state of mind and being so broken, but an elderly lady saw me and immediately sat me down and held onto my arm as tight as she could, and just spoke to me. I didn’t realise at the time, but she had also called the police and she stayed with me until they arrived. She spoke about all the joys in life and what she wishes she had done in her time. She encouraged me to find something I enjoy and pursue it further, that being photography and video making, and that’s why I started my channel. I might not be good at it, but it’s something I enjoy, and it’s a reminder of how it started a new path for me. The lady was so kind she even gave me her address to visit her in the future to talk, and I did. A few weeks after I went to visit and took her chocolates, and we spoke for hours. I don’t know what would’ve happened that night, but I know one thing is true, this lady saved my life in more than one way, and I’ll always be grateful to her.

We have to find things worth doing, learning how to connect with people, and objects that surrounds us like nature and a simple breeze, even if that human bond is remotely. Life's about movement, if we stop, things start to fade away, it won't wait for us, has to be a constant movement. To anyone who's tired of everything, please don't end it. Take it from someone who's almost jumped down from their high-rise apartment multiple times. Life can be very, very ugly, but it also can be beautiful. Live for those beautiful moments, no matter how small. No matter how worthless you think you are, don't give up. With time and effort, you'll find a way to make things work. You'll carve a path for yourself. You'll find someone who loves you and you'll see how much there is to love about yourself too. Despite everything you've been through, you're still alive, still breathing. That means more than words can describe. Never give up.

2021 I used to feel like shit and think I'm a no good worthless POS. Sometimes I harmed myself and thought about suicide. But that's shits over. Today, I'm gonna hope everything will be fine.. NO, I will make it so that I can have a great life, it's also me who should help myself out. Back then, I had no confidence. Barely. But now, I'm slightly hopeful with my confidence now and I'm really trying to make it better. Well until today I still feel sad and lonely sometimes but I will never give up ever again. Because, what's the point of me staying negative if it won't get me anywhere and wish I'd get somewhere at the same time? Never ever give up. All of you. Trust me, everything would be fine if you have faith. You CAN make it. Trust me.

i've been fighting depression since i was around 10, I did have suicidal thoughts every now and then wanting to escape the family abuse (physical and mental) and school bullying and abuse, i felt like i was alone in this world and nobody would ever give a shit about me until 2013 (12 yrs old) i met this person online who struggled a lot like me and i gave them the love and care that i always wanted to have, we became friends.. then best friends.. we talked a lot and did a lot.. we've made so many memories in the past 9 years, we helped each other through the worst times.. We know things about each other and nobody could ever dream to know, we started a serious relationship two years ago planning to be together for real, a few months ago we've decided to tell our parents about one another because they never knew about this friendship/relationship.. my mother accepted them but their's did not, She shamed them and crushed them telling him how ashamed and disappointed she felt because how dare you fall in love with a "stranger"? and now im all alone, facing this ugly shitty ass life on my own without my bestfriend and soulmate, every single day that passes i feel like dying more and more... i fucking hate this. here i go again posting personal crap on the internet but i don't care, because if i decided to throw myself off a building someday then people will know why

People keep saying things like life will get better and you can fix it but I think it's irresponsible to make such claims. The fact is that nothing is absolute, not even salvation. Some should have lived and some will be better off dead. You are only trying to stay positive but what if those claims caused people to prolong their suffering? Can you take responsibility for that situation? I don't suddenly decide I want to die, I have been dreaming about it my whole life and until now, I haven't waver my mind once.

"Life is a single book story being read and written, we're both reader and co-author of our own story. it's never the end until the book is burnt or the authors(you and the world) stops writing" Maybe it's the reader in me that made me want to see the end of the story, no matter how hard and painful things were. Even when my depression was starting to shut down my body these words reminded me that there were still many pages left in the book to complete and read, which meant there were many chances for something to change but I'll never get to see/know what sort of plot twists is in the story if i drop the book now

We just thanked her and said that it was not necessary because we were just silly tourists :) Where I am from, people would either ignore you or just stare and laugh. As someone that’s half Japanese I respect this fully ありがとう as someone he knew a friend was going to jump and I was only 2km away in my car I saw him jump the amount of people that just walked by is sickening. Rest In Peace Josh. As someone that suffers from suicidal thoughts and depression thank you for this.

This really warms my heart. My dad use to work in japan, one time he was struggling financially and couldnt afford a flight back home, he was very stress that he almost pass out on the train station and a group japanese people help him. His japanese friend offered him money and even drive him to the embassy. This social experiment really showcase the kindness of japanese people, I got teared up. Thank you.

I know this is just an experiment but The way the man is pulling the dude away screaming what r u doin and the dude just wanna to be left alone. Broke me. This make me really sad too. Sometimes all we need is just a little push to tell us we're okay. We're good. There's someone loves us. I love you.

This is so sad. I admire Japanese people a lot not just because of their culture but because they care about their people. They might be cold and shy when you look at them but they have precious hearts. I feel sad that there's a lot of people in Japan who ended their lives. Must be because of pressure. I wish I could give them a hug or keep them company. T^T If you are seeing this, I am wishing that you will have a good life. Even though some people don't understand you, please don't hesitate to share your burdens to others. It will not burden them but it will make them happy to help you. Go tell to strangers... They don't mind. We don't mind. Pleaseeee be safe!

@@arshan2276 I'm very sorry to read this. I want to let you know that even if you feel like no one around you cares about you or understand you, it's never the case, it's just that sometimes we're so lonely that we don't see the peoples who would be happy to talk to us or share a little moment. I hope you'll get better soon. Don't let anywone discourage you from taking time for yourself and doings the things you like : whatever path you'll decide to take in your life, know that there will always be some peoples that would be happy to take it with you.

Human kindness can be found anywhere. I'm glad I came across this video on my KZfaq. I cried while watching this. This is the first time I watched a social experiment in Japan. Most people might think that Japanese are cold hearted but don't generalize them, I have a Japanese friend and even though we have different culture and race, he's kind to me. ♥

How he will miss all the great things life has to offer, how he will miss his family, or future kids. The dude was a legend. Joyconboyz for life We really needed that Japanese man to stop him

“You have more to do before you die!” What an amazing quote, it basically is short for that you have a mission in life, and you cannot die until you complete that mission. And that mission is life itself. Always remember what this man said no matter the situation. Always remind yourself you have more to do in life and you have to keep going. 😉

This is such an encouragement, especially in a country like Japan with a disproportionately high sucide rate...when I was there I was fortunate to meet people with a similar kindness, such that I felt at home even while being so far from it. Everyone, thank you for your hard work.

Thank you so much for making this channel! I've been living in Japan for almost 10 years (I moved with my family) and long story short, because of the last few years of working at a terrible racist company, I became depressed and disappointed because I'm half Japanese, but it's really difficult for me to get accepted by Japanese people and instead developed a negative view of Japanese people. This channel made me have hope that there are still good people in this country.
