I was in the market for a 3 row suv for my growing family. hated how all of them looked the same, just round and blobby. Discovered this, really liked the powertrain and amenities so I bought it. It’s great. But I can see how some people don’t.

Don't buy a turbocharged four-cylinder or any 4-cylinder from the Hyundai brand. At 4 cylinder is going to be struggling every single time you push the gas, turbocharged motors are overworked, specially pulling something 5000 lbs around. The Chrysler inline 6, has the same problem. The Toyota V6 has the same problem. Late model Ford EcoBoost, have the same problem. General motors turbocharged 4 cylinders same problem. It's not if they're going to blow up, it's when.

@@mowcowbell Acutally it sold above expectations for the first 3 years. It was discontinued after its 8th year due to declining sales. But yeah most "unsuccessful" vehicles run eight years... Now there resale value is extremely high because there's nothing else quite like them.

The Santa Fe looks great. In this case styling is subjective since it does everything else exceptionally well. It’s luxurious inside, roomy, tech laden, good to drive, performs well, handles well, etc

I don't mind it at all, but I like boxy vehicles. The wheel arches are a bit too big, but that's a modern styling thing pretty much every manufacturer has on at least one vehicle, especially SUV's and trucks.

Not a Hyundai fan, but I like a more square design as it has more practical interior space so that's OK. The DCT is a much bigger issue. I hate the capacitive buttons. And Roman, this doesn't compete with the Grand Highlander. Not even close to the same size.

So I currently have a 2020 Santa Fe here in Calgary. We’ve had it about 3 1/2 years ago from a dealership as a rental fleet return with 25,000 km on it. We absolutely love it. Couple little issues, Nothing too crazy. And we drive it a lot tow boat with it. 2 kids,130 pound dog, 7.8L on the highway when loaded with stuff. this car gets a ton of work! And we have JUST the base engine with the second tier package. It’s just Mom’s station wagon. It’s all you need. BUT Could you guys PLEASE review an absolute base model hybrid 2024? only waiting lists are available. there isn’t one available in Canada. I can find, let alone in Alberta. I would love to see your take on the absolute base model hybrid. That’s the car I want. And please, for the love of all that’s holy pick a color!!!! NOT white or black!!!!!

Love your videos...may sound strange, but I am that person looking at the Santa Fe vs. Defender vs. Grenadier. When I first saw the Santa Fe from the side, I had to do a double take as it looked like a 130 at first. I know the wife will love the Santa Fe, but I am more in line with the Grenadier living in the mountains. There are 10 miles of gravel/dirt/snow between our home and the nearest asphalt.

The C-pillar handle locks (Inside the door jam next to the handle you’ll see a keyhole). Nice to see that the lock actually works. Also, the competitors for the Santa Fe are are more the smaller 3-row SUVs; The Kia Sorrento and Toyota (Not so Grand) Highlander. Mazda CX-90 might also fit into the category.

I think it looks great. The old one blended in with every other crossover - bland and boring. This one looks good out, and great in. Looks more SUV than CUV. The hybrid powertrain is definitely the one to buy though

It is, the back end is hideous. Had they done that a bit different I would have considered it. That light interior would be very difficult to keep clean. Yes go darker. No it competes with the regular highlander.

FYI: you can lock and unlock the "hand grip" panel by opening the door and accessing it from the side of the panel

You guys keep missing the point of the third row in this and the Sorento. It is not designed for any type of full time use. It isn't made to compete against other third row vehicles. That seat is simply there to hold someone for a short trip across town or similar. This keeps the vehicle smaller and it easily fits in garages and other small spaces. Anyone buying this vehicle for full time third row use is looking at the wrong vehicle and will be extremely disappointed. For a family of four who occasionally needs to transport a friend or visitor the third row works great. It will be folded down most of the time for everyday use. Also, don't forget, on the Hyundai side you get a 10 year warranty and 3 years of scheduled service.

They look good IMO, I was working at a Hyundai dealer when these came out. I wish it got a v6 option but looks inside and out are really nice and premium.

I now own the calligraphy model, and it speaks quality, style, and comfort, loaded with amities found in higher-priced autos. I don't like this Santa Fe, I love it! From Back to the Front! I have received several compliments on the vehicle. Just test-drive one and you will be impressed.....

I like this car as a whole, including the price. The AWD 1.6L Hybrid drive away at $66k in Australia. A claimed 5.6L/100km. 42 mpg

The handle on the door can be locked. That’s why it wasn’t opening on the passenger side. Look in the door jam and there is a key hole.

It’s going to look great sitting in the service shop at the dealership. The engine and transmission issues on Hyundai’s are way too high. I’d stay away until they’ve worked out the kinks.

To me it's a nice looking car. My personal taste is that I don't like the rubber band tires & I definitely wouldn't have any engine "other than a diesel" that was turbo charged. 18 inch wheels and a NA v6 & I'd like to have one.

“The quality of the materials inside” … yes, avoid looking under the hood as long as possible. Can you park this one near buildings? My parents 2016 & 2017 had complete engine replacements and told not to park near any structures due to fire concerns.

The young men over at Car Confections bought a Santa Fe & they had so many issues they Hyundai bought it back. In fact if I remember correctly they started have transmission issues not even 24 hours after they bought it. They could’ve just had the bad luck of getting a bad one but knowing that anyone looking into the model year Santa Fe better do some extra research.

Car Confections has convinced me that I can't own this Hyundai or Kia especially with a DCT. Their car stayed in the shop for an extended amount of time. The Korean twins change so much with every iteration of their vehicles that a lot of the kinks do not get worked out before the introduction of the next version. Slow down and get it right. QC is not there. IMHO

If there is one thing you can give credit for in Hyundai Automotive, it is that you don't get charged for every single feature in the vehicle. You definitely get more car for the price.

Saw one of these on the road recently, I honestly thought it didn't look bad. Of course I got so burned out on the generic jelly bean crossovers that dominated the roads for the last 10-15 years that almost anything with a right angle somewhere in the design looks decent. Except the Cybertuck, that thing is ugly.

This thing is not selling around here in Quebec, Canada and its the kind of car that should be « flying off the shelves ». Wondering if this is generalized and if Roman got a call from Hyundai to do an infomercial ? I wanted to love this thing so much, but it is 2 inches too low and ends up looking like a station wagon Ford Flex instead of a baby Defender. I am disappointed with the exterior’s final result. Interior looks amazing though.

Only Americans refers the Santa Fe as a Ford Flex. All other world markets see this as a Land Rover Defender copy with a hint of G-Wagon. Imagine the Santa Fe having a Toyota badge. People wouldn't think it's ugly. It will be the best thing since slice bread.

2008 Ford Flex at the front. 1992 Geo Metro at the back. I can't unsee it. The interior is beautiful though. Hyundai really should consider hiring a new designer. This era of origami styling and corny elements like the "H" shape in the lighting and the cryptic morse code "H" on the steering wheel is just not it. It's cheapening the brand image. I agree with Roman about the materials and build quality. Hyundai has been as good if not better in those regards for about 15 years now. Unfortunately, in that time mechanical reliability has fallen off a cliff.

Rear looks like those front of cabover trucks. Get NA motor Hyundai with Regular transmission if u gona keep for while. Get Turbo charged Dual cluth if u leasing it. That pouch that they put in climb roof is good for fish tank after water form rain gets in.

I like the way it looks. It has a weird Lego/Minecraft thing going on in the front. Would i buy it? Only if I drove less than ten thousand miles a year and do not plan on keeping it more than ten- twelve years
