I noticed a small mistake in the graphical representation, @TechPana. Mistake: Normally: DNS Query > ISP DNS > Target Server With DNS: DNS Query > DNS Server > Target Server Correction: Normally: DNS Query > ISP DNS > Target Server With DNS encryption: DNS Query > ISP DNS > Private DNS Server > Target Server User traffic cannot directly bypass the ISP DNS and connect to an outside server. Instead, the original target site (DNS query) is encrypted by a private DNS and bypasses the ISP DNS firewall.
