I love how a lot of the music is tuned to a horse’s gallop. The rhythm in game is so dope when you’re riding.

Gotta give credit to Monroe's character too. He's betrayed by his own men, men he called his brothers, while he starts talking about his own ideals and how he's just trying to be a good soldier by helping others and it shows throughout that chapter what kind of a man he is. And even after all that shit, he STILL refuses to shoot his own men. Damn good character.

arthur isnt concerned with himself anymore, not really, he wants to help those who he can, and right the wrongs of his past, (downes family). Also Arthur isnt much of a good man, he is a slave to dutch ideologies only to be free in the end, SPOILERS the death of his first family hardens him into the man you see in the prologue. Although even at that point you sense he is starting to see cracks in the paint. ( if you play high honour anyway)

Some people always say *If only Arthur didn't get that cough, and never got sick* I think the exact opposite. Exactly, just like Charles said, he's lucky to know he's gonna die because he can make ammendments and redeem himself before he leaves this existence, it feels so cool to go around helping people to redeem himself just like Sister told him to do at the end of that mission. I have no idea how Rockstar achieved it but during chapter 6 when everything is coming to an end I just feel like crime and money are totally worthless, I can't state how much I don't care about money and how much I do care about making Arthur change his life and help people out before he dies, I feel like both Arthur and I feel like we don't belong to the outlaw life no more, we just want to make things right.

What I love must about captain Monroe is how well he parallels Arthur. A man who bought into the myth of his organization only to be betrayed. Monroe however sticks to his ideals in the face of betrayal by refusing to shoot his men. He ends up serving as role model for us the players. Arthur may be surrounded by bad men but he doesn’t have to be bad himself. Unlike Dutch who is only as good as the man whispering in his ear

It makes sense (in lore) that they'd be able to take on the army the same way Arthur or John can mow down dozens of people in a second. This music was just perfect. There's an upbeat theme to it. This is Arthur turning 100% into a good person. Saving Monroe because he was a good man. The music says that to us. This is it, all those shooting skills, dead eye upgrades, all that cooked food, all those unlocked talismans and bought upgrades, is going to be used for good! Time to put the bad men into the ground because you're badder than the baddest. Time to turn his life around while he still can! The music is telling you, "What you wanna be a good guy now?? , when you've been hit by TB!?? after all this bullshit!! Well be my fucking guest, here's your horse and your gun, you already know how to use this shit!, watch out , start running, here they come!" There's even a speech from Charles about how Arthur has time to make a change in his life thanks to the fact that he knows he's not got much time left. I knew I was going to be damn sad and proud of Arthur.

Alyson Grey in comparison to the garbage Ubisoft has been churning out over the years? That might as well be rewarded with the game equivalents of oscars/emmys/academies

@@matthewgaviola8885 I'm talking about L.A noire not Ubisoft mate. L.A noire is dogshit, watch the whole marketing campaign talking about "how the game works on lies and emotions in the actors face" But then they just got shit actors to play them like wtf. SOOO much of a wasted opportunity.

I think I've commented on this before, but I always found the military drums and trumpets in this song reminiscent of Monroe's ideals. He is fighting for what he believes is honourable and what America should be in his vision, which is an America that protects the rights of Native Americans. That is what makes Monroe's men's betrayal all the more heart-breaking to him, as he is forced to see that Colonel Henry Favours, based on the real-life "John Chivington" (who, just like his portrayal in the game as Favours, was truly an evil man), and by extension, the United States army as a whole, serves the interests of American businesses alone and have no qualms continuing the genocide of Native Americans in order to acquire more land and oil. RDR 2 is one of the best games of all time, and it's in my top 3 favourites. Its portrayal of the horrors Native Americans had to endure at the hands of the imperialist United States is both realistic and heart-breaking, and I haven't been able to experience many other games that emotionally broke me as much as Red Dead Redemption 2 did. Never forget the massacre at Wounded Knee, and never forget the genocide of the Native Americans as a whole. A genocide that is considered one of, if not, the most devastating genocide in Human history.

Don’t forget that native Americans have a long history of genocide among themselves. That obviously doesn’t justify the US doing the same thing to them but it’s important to talk about all the facts. They weren’t all innocent.
