I hear so many people compare Good Molecules to The Ordinary. I have easily sensitized skin, and to me the best thing about The Ordinary is the simplicity of the formulas, so if a product irritates my skin I can be pretty sure it’s the star ingredients are the problem. I haven’t tried any Good Molecules, and I probably won’t because of all the essential oils. I’ve let myself run out of Buffet, not sure how that happened! I can’t say I see a huge difference when I use it versus using a straight hydrating serum, but it seems like a good insurance policy product. Buffet has always been more expensive than the other products from The Ordinary, maybe the ingredients are more expensive.

Awesome pics for a showdown, Sarah! 👍 I bought the Ordinary Buffet AGES ago, before the brand was that well known, and the price was around $15.00 CAD. It's $14.80 CAD now, which is $11.30 US (but I know thry charge more), so us Canadians 🇨🇦 are getting a better deal, for sure. I was considering trying the Good Molecules serum, but I think I'll stick with the Ordinary, as I know I like it and shipping is free. Thanks for helping me decide!

ProTip for The Ordinary 1oz bottles...if you look under the NIOD products on the DECIEM website they sell black plastic pump bottles that fit all the DECIEM 1oz bottles including those by The Ordinary. I purchased the pump tops for each of my Ordinary bottles and love them, although have to remind myself to save the top so I can wash, disinfect, and reuse them on my new bottles. These tops are so much better than the dropper tops that come with The Ordinary products!

@JulienArbor
@JulienArbor 3 жыл бұрын
@@NOBSBeauty Glad I could help! I don’t think many people realize they carry the pump tops because it’s so difficult to make out what it is from the photograph they use on the main NIOD page. I only discovered them because the tiny silver spoons are right next to them and I also got a few spoons to use with creams in jars rather than digging my fingers in them. That’s when I spotted the pump tops and later ordered a bunch of them after knocking over and losing the majority of a new bottle of lactic acid!

I definitely need to try The Ordinary’s peptide serum. I’m super shocked Good Molecules had bergamot oil in it, such a bummer. Have you tried any of the othe Inkey List products that are newest like the Snow mushroom and Sea Kelp serum? I have the Snow Mushroom and the ones time I used it, it stung my skin and idk 😐 if my skin was just super sensitive at the time but that happens sometimes with products that don’t have any harsh ingredients in them, that’s just my skin. I just saw that Dr Jart has an early app release on Sephora and they all have tea tree leaf oil in them but they aren’t high up on the list and the products look really interesting 🤔
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
I think that is the only Good Molecules product that has fragrance in it. I've got all The Inkey List products, the Sea Kelp feels very nice and hydrating. The Snow Mushroom Serum was just okay in my opinion. The formula was just okay, I'm wondering if it was phenoxethanol that gave you that reaction? 🤔 I have the Volition Beauty Snow Mushroom Serum and I like that one better but it is like triple the price... I saw the DJ products on Stylekorean a few weeks ago and picked them all up- they are okay but too much Tea Tree Oil for me to use on a regular basis. I do really like the Laneige Cica Mask- that one has a small amount of Tea Tree Oil but is my fave out of all three of their Sleeping Masks. I LOVE this time of year NEW RELEASES!!!!! 😃😁😮

I really do like the Copper Buffet, it's become one of my favorite (and most used) products from The Ordinary. I do spend the extra money for it. Copper Peptides have been shown to really help with collagen and elastin production. Although if you are on a budget I think just using the original Buffet will make a big difference in skin. I'll have to do a versus with some of the copper peptide products I have.

I should do a versus of the two products- I hadn;t thought of that until now. The Ordinary contains 1% Copper Peptiides, I couldn't find the percentage of peptides in the Skincare Revolution Copper Peptide Serum. I'm guessing it is probably a little under 1% just based on where it is in the ingredient list. Personally, I find The Ordinary to be worth the extra cash just because it is loaded with other beneficial ingredients and many other amino acids and peptides.

So, there have been rumors about peptides, and not to use them with AHA's, Retinols, or Vitamin C. I have been hearing those rumors a lot recently. I have tried to get to the bottom of those by researching pubmed and other published research and I have seen no studies or research that shows no to use peptides with other actives. Because of that, I have been using peptides in my routines with other actives with no issues. I'm going to keep my eyes open for any research, hopefully there will be some to confirm or deny this rumor.

I think adding in any additional Peptides can help, even if you say use something that contains Peptides. It's always good to expose your skin to as many different ingredients as possible. Have you tried the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum? That is a favorite of mine for a long time.

Can you use the ordinary buffet with the ordinary niacinamide
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can certainly layer those two together. I'd probably suggest The Buffet first, then the Niacinamide.

I wonder how the timeless matrixyl compares
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
The Matrixyl from Timeless is a nice option, but it focuses only on the Matrixyl peptide, which is great, but I prefer to use a serum with many different peptides. Matrixyl is proven to help with skin firming and fine lines so you definitely could go with the Timeless. Thankfully the Timeless is rather affordable, fragrance free, well packaged.

Kindly reply...! Em 29 years old girl, can i use peptide serum in this age to prevent anti aging in future? Please help me out..
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! You are at the perfect age to start working to prevent aging. I wish I had started younger... I think adding a good peptide serum and vitamin c serum will do wonders to help prevent wrinkles and fine lines in the future. The other thing is a good sunscreen. If you do that you will be so happy in the future!

A couple ones that are my favorites are: Klairs Airy Soft UV Essence SPF 50- the Klairs is so light it feels like nothing on your face! , The EltaMd UV Clear SPF 46 is great for oily and/or acne prone skin. If you have dry skin the Peter Thomas Roth Max Mineral SPF 45 is very Hydrating and is a Mineral Sunscreen. My other favorite is the Tatcha Pore Silken Sunscreen with SPF 35 is also a good option.

Are you a chemist or a biologist? A Pharmacist? Where do you get your ingredient studies?
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
I research everything, typically through pubmed, where they publish scholarly research, you can find a lot of information on almost anything there. I think they key with that is sorting out who did the research, how they researched what you are looking at, and when the research was done. I've got several college degrees but none in chemistry or biology. Here is the link to Pubmed if you are interested in it: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/

Loved the video and will be looking at more! One constructive comment - your camera person can be heard yawning throughout most of the video :). It's a little distracting. I appreciated the scientific and down to earth approaches and scoring for a really good blend of common sense and facts! Well done!

I respect that your opinion cannot be bought. These women on here are so fake. Always pushing some crappy product in their videos. Its nice to know theres at least one channel on YT who cannot be bought. What a testament to the times. The age of narcisim.

This whole point system thing is so lame and tacky to me lol. It’d be great if you just compare and contrast them to fit different skin types
