The thing with Babymetal is that you can always look at the crowd to tell how something is going over. When you've got an entire arena popping off and doing your dance, you're doing something right, like - nobody gets 5000-50000 people into a single building and doing their dance if they aren't on to something super special, or meaningful. Babymetal is fucking awesome

I think this is their best peformance I've seen. The band are insanely tight! ...It makes me well-up too. it's just beautiful and triggers some kind of sensory overload 🙃 (and no, not a pervy thing, appreciation of the art, the music, the voices, the guitar-work!, the timing and key-changes..the sheer unity of the crowd and that connection with people 6,000miles away that aren't that different to us.. and how cute when they say "see you" at the end. It's all perfect!). i know it's _manufactured_ but i think of it more as orchestrated. Jeff wayne's war of the world's has the same effect on me. I was at Tokyo Dome 2016 both nights. Had the best time ever! 55,000 sold out both nights with each having a completely different playlist. Only live performance of Tails of the Destinies… Does it get any better? Nope! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻❤️❤️❤️

In case it hasn't been said, rewatch the RoR video again, but this time, understand that this was only the 3rd time they had performed this song live and the first two times had a total of 8,000 fans combined. This show, at the the Satima Super Arena (Capacity 36,500) was sold out, and they nailed it. All in spite of being 17 and 15 at the time and in spite of this being the SIXTEENTH song that they played in a set that went well over 90 minutes (and Hideki is still nailing those blast beats with the rapid double bass!) Think about that, when the crowd sings along, only 8,000 had seen this song performed before this show. The Album RoR was released on was not going to be out until over a year later.

Tokyo Dome stage was 5 stories tall with performance platforms on the top as well as the bottom, with an elevator. At times in the blueray,. you can see the elevator running up and down.... with the bottom stage having two round rotating platforms. The platform the girls are on rotates as does the platform the Kamis are performing on.

The lore is that while SuMetal is backstage taking a break and not supervising Yui & Moa, an Oni (demon) possesses them or corrupts them in some way, and they become "Black Babymetal". The BB songs are in general some of the heavier songs, and lyrically they are quite different and not quite the wholesome positive message you typically get from Su. But, everything ends happily as SuMetal returns them to normal by banishing the demon using her Metal Goddess powers, and everything is back to normal. Well, until she's crucified again!

And dude your reaction to this performance is miraculously the same as i was first time watching this specific performance back in around 10 or 12 years ago i cant remember precisely, i was cant hold my tears because of the epicness and the proud i don't even know why i feel really proud when watching some of the original babymetal performances and footage videos. I love all of the black babymetal songs. They have not done any new ones since Yui Metal stopped performing a few years ago. But with Momo metal now part of the group, hopefully her and Moa metal will have new black babymetal songs in the future.

Su said in an interview that that performance was her favourite from her career up to then (2021) as when they finished IDZ they knew they'd been accepted by the Metal fandom outside of Japan. Great double reaction, great song choices. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. As you were told Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015. This was the Kami Band playing live of course. In this concert the Kami band were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars (Takayoshi has the glitter pink guitar) with BOH on his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Sis Anger - Black BABYMETAL doing black metal ... the contrast between the brutal instrumentals and their sweet vocals is everything. In this song they are berating lazy boys (maybe a lazy brother?). Don't piss off Yui and Moa - they will knock you back into shape. Apparently some of the language used was quite strong (most translations water it down, a couple of translations went too far the other way). I think it is probably safe to say they used a couple of phrases you might not expect to hear from a couple of very polite and sweet young ladies. Apparently when they first read the lyrics Yui and Moa couldn't stop giggling.

iirc, in their biggest live show, Tokyo Dome, it was rumoured that after the entire set, Hideki couldn't move his legs that he had to be carried off the stage by staff. If that was true, it's a testament to his amazing ability on the kicks.

When you said it's happening again I completely knew what you meant. I listen to a lot of music mostly metal but I'll listen to anything. I spend a lot of time listening to hardcore beatdown posthardcore and a lot of metalcore death core thrash and power metal but only 1 band/group in any harder style of music has the ability to cause tears to fill my eyes and give me goosebumps every time and it's babymetal especially their live performances.

In Sis Anger they say literally "We hate you, we hate you all!" to the audience. And the audience just loves it. Yui is doing the sign when she moves a pointing finger over the audience. I do not remember the Japanese name for it, but that sign really tells what she thinks about them. Black Babymetal has such a good humor. I also love their GJ.

Nice reactions. Great two song picks. Babymetal just did another surprise today. A collaboration this time. It's from left field for sure. A song with Lil Uzi Vert. I had to listen to it a few times. Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then or she does it smilingly with her friendly voice now. [Sis Anger] In a book authored by Kobametal, he says Sis Anger may be the fastest song (fastest BPM) that has been ever performed at Tokyo Dome. Probably faster than any song Metallica played at the venue (in 1991). The sub-unit in BABYMETAL by Yui & Moa, the two evil girls 😄, called "BLACK BABYMETAL". The words used in this lyrics are harsh, provocative and brutal especially for girls. But the combination of such overstated aggressiveness and their facial expression (overly serious and a little smile) indicates they are trying to encourage boys and inflame their guts. Allow me to apologize to you and your viewers: at the time of creating this list, this version of "Sis Anger" was the only one I could find at the time. I apologize because I am one who totally despises compilation videos. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. Having said that (and still believing it), this compilation video was very well done and I think it could be called the exception to the rule. In the meantime, I'll look around to see if I can find a real concert clip of this song. It still amazes me that the girls and Kami Band had that much energy at the end of that 90 minute show. 80 minutes of that same energy and then to go out like that is crazy. How was Hideki not taken out on a stretcher is beyond me. This entire concert was amazing. I wasn't there but I sure as hell bought the Blu Ray. Sis Anger is good but I still prefer the other 3 Black BABYMETAL songs over it. 🤘🦊🤘
