So Sally Jackson is actually the one who used Medusa's head to turn Smelly Gabe into a statue. She then sold the statue as modern art and used the money to jump start her new life. I get why they changed it; they didnt wanna teach kids the lesson that its fine to murder your step dad as long as he deserves it. 😅

It was Percy that made the wave not Posiedon.

The Medusa head was sent back just cause they didn't want it. Plus its Percy's "trophy". Some monster when they disappear drop something of themselves as loot. When Percy killed the minotaur he got it's horn. When he killed Medusa he got it's head. Also they don't explain it well because they chose to use underworld monsters(Hades domain) as examples, but all monsters reform in tarturus when they die and come back. It could take 1000s of years or less than week for them to come back. That is why the Minotaur, Medusa and such were trying to run their fade even though they died in the original myths.

There are 5 books so ideally there should be 5 seasons of this show. Also Luke has understandable frustrations but he's very narrow minded and being manipulated. His story becomes more clear in other seasons.

LOL I'm sorry but you totally misinterpreted returning Medusa's head to Percy. Percy knows what it is - there's no danger that he'll open it unawares. Poseidon sent it back (in the book, he tells Percy he's doing it) for them to use against Gabe. In the book Sally does so, but they sanitized it in the series (understandably) to make Gabe victimize himself (as, IMO, Poseidon knew would happen).

About the things they changed from the book: The movies are really different from the books, but the series is a lot more faithful to it cause the author is one of creators of the show. even tho the series did change some things from the book, it was minimal things and with the author acceptance so either way is more true to the universe. About the author, Rick Riordan, he made a cameo in the show right in the first episode when Percy and Grover are in the director office talking about what happened with Nancy, the man in the left is the author

Some details we currently know about Luke that weren't fully shown/not focused on fully Luke and Annabeth are the 2 who have been at camp the longest. They were there for 5 years up till now. That's how long a demigod often lives. They rarely get past adulthood and those that do are thoee with extremely weak scents and abilities. Luke is a child of Hermes. His cabin takes in unclaimed children since Hermes sponsors wanderers. In the book Percy sees countless kids on the floor because there isn't enough space. So many kids whose godly parents can't be bothered to claim. Every time Luke goes to bed he sees them and they rely on him as he is the Cabin counselor Still more to come but that's all that is safe to share

I don't think the gods care about Medusa's head, they don't want or need it. If Percy saw the box and the "return to sender" note, he'd know it's Medusa's head. I don't know if they're being petty telling him indirectly that they want nothing to do with him or giving it back to him as he's its owner, he risked his life for it and it is a powerful weapon to have.

Oh my gods I was grinning all the way through this reaction. This episode was fucking legendary in so many ways and y'all were so much fun to watch it with 💙 I'm so glad to be able to share this story that has meant so much to me since I was a child with you guys, who I've had so much fun with this last half decade. It feels special. Here's some fun trivia/answers regarding some of you questions on this episode: - Mrs. Dodds/Alecto did briefly hint at the Helm's disappearance back in episode one. As she attacked Percy at the Met, she asked "Where is it?" which wouldn't make sense if Hades had really stolen the master bolt, so it was meant to be a clue that something wasn't as it seems. Of course, that was the literal second scene in the entire show and we didn't have the context to know that was weird yet. In the books, she drops that clue on the bus (episode 3), so both the characters and the audience have more of a chance to pick up on it, but it's such a small detail anyway that the placement doesn't matter much. Hades never announced that his Helm was missing because he didn't want to appear vulnerable and he knew the other gods wouldn't be sympathetic towards him, so that was the only clue we got that it was missing. - The books specified that WWII was children on Zeus and Poseidon on the Allies side and children of Hades on the Axis side, and that it was the demigods who started the war, not the gods. That's why the Big Three are forbidden from having kids now, because their kids were strong enough to start an entire world war. I'm relieved that they left that detail out though, because aligning all children of Hades with fucking Nazis feels a little....well..... 😬) - The whole Gabe/Medusa situation in the book was wild. Possibly the most metal thing I've ever seen in children's media. What happens is, when Percy's up on Olympus, Poseidon tells him his mother has been returned to her apartment in Manhattan and that there's a present waiting for him there. So he goes home, and Gabe immediately lays into him when he walks in the door. Sally steps between them, but flinches when Gabe moves towards her. Percy's blood runs cold, and he realizes that Gabe has been abusing her when he's not around. He goes to square up, but Sally sees what's happening and pulls him into his room to calm him down. On his bed is the box with Medusa's head in it. He tells Sally that what's in the box can rid them of Gabe forever and make her safe in her own home again, and that he'll gladly use it for her. She refuses to let her twelve-year-old son kill for her, and tells him he should really be getting back to Camp but not to worry for her, because she can handle herself. Later, he receives a letter from her explaining that Gabe has gone missing and there's no leads to his whereabouts. On another note, she's decided to dabble in sculpturing and sold her first piece to an art museum for a large sum of money. They're clamoring for more, but she's already disposed of her sculpturing tools. She's used the money to finish her college degree and buy them a new apartment. So basically, Poseidon sent the head to Percy so that he could murder his abusive step-father. I love it. (Also, if you're wondering why Sally was ever with that jerk in the first place, the reason was hinted at in episode 3. Demigods smell tasty to monsters, but mortals smell gross. Gabe has such a strong mortal smell to him that it can cover up Percy's smell, so she married him to keep Percy safe. Now that he can defend himself, they can send him to the Underworld lol. I do wonder if they put the box outside the door on purpose knowing that Gabe would be nosy 😁)

The Medusa head in this series could simply just be interpreted as you sent the head to us and we don't want it take that crap back. Lol if he turned to stone that was on him. XD

Show changes pacing a bit. In the book he was at camp for half the book. And trained under Luke.

I enjoyed the series. However they really dropped the ball with Annabeth and Grover's characters. For Grover the series removed a lot of his character as well as major moments like him being the main onento fight Medusa as he has enhanced senses And Annabeth they removed all her flaws and took lines and moments from other characters. Such as her talking back to Ares. Percy is the only one that talked back to Ares. Example, a big part of Annabeth is her bond with Luke making her not believe Luke changed. Here she just accepts it
