The courts at all three levels noted that the case of accidental contamination beyond the farmer's control was not under consideration but rather that Mr. Schmeiser's action of having identified, isolated and saved the Roundup-resistant seed placed the case in a different category.
@kinngrimm3 жыл бұрын
@@JonJon-wf5yj Even if what you say is true, there are so many aspects to patent law which i think is outdated and to some extant even hindering progress. Take for example keeping the technological edge in opposition to China. They do not care about patents so much or do they now? So loosening the laws and make things easier accessable, less constrictive i think is the way to adapt to that. Sure systems of control which have been built on the patent system need to change then too. Now besides that, i always found it rather horrible to have plants geneticly developed in a way that they can't reproduce anymore, that truelly is against nature and i think can bite us in the back with not much imagination. I am also not a fan of plants which produce their own pesticides and herbecides in themselves as that may lead to various health issues on consumption. The way of making plants resistant against roundup and therefor anything else dieing is also in many ways not the best solution as so called superweeds (those which nevertheless are resistant against roundup) will spread and can not get rid of anymore. There are areas in the USA full of such resistant plant wich now are THE problem as no crops will grow there anymore. On yet another note, Monsanto which created Agent Orange and other nice things, their orignal owners sold their shares and are pretty much in the clear which makes me furious as these in my opinion have a lot of blood on their hands, but hey thats capitalism for you, the ways how the wealthy obfuscate responsabilites. But should the new owners go belly up with their purchase, i wont shed a tear for them either. So booohfuckinhoo for a farmer "stealing" seeds. I applaud him.
@JonJon-wf5yj3 жыл бұрын
@@kinngrimm Yep I get it you are okay with stealing, got it! Agent Orange was Monsanto, DuPont and other not just one company, fact. Monsanto got rid of that side of their company many many years ago, fact. They make GMO seeds to provide more yield per/acre of land to help with our overpopulation on this planet, fact. As for your other accusations show me a source for any of it, do not send me some blog/Green Piss link either something written in fact. Oh and by the way corporations are not people Monsanto isn't evil or moraless the shit stains running it are...you know the ACTUAL humans??????
@kinngrimm3 жыл бұрын
@@JonJon-wf5yj So you think because a company gets rid of one product, that company should be clear of the effects of that product had on people? To this day in Vietnam people are being born with deformaties as a sideeffect of Agent Orange. Did the company, the people involved of creating and producing, the USA or its citizen make amends? If that even is possible, still trying would send a good message. I am not aware of such, i guess that is what most people in the USA just don't get, just ask native Americans or those from BM. But sure try to spread the blame on many companies which were not yet part of the discussion, seems easier than getting to the root of the problem here. Now making products which would "help feed" the people of the world sounds in itself rather altruistic, still when these products tend to make people sick and even if not if they are ment to make profit, how altruistic could the motivation really be? Give me a break ^^. Lastly i am not here to educate you. Fact. I started a comment, you made a comment on a comment ^^ and i therefor reacted. If you don't like what i have to say, then move along. Not my job to gather inforamtion for you or educate you. We both may not have all the information, but do not assume you or me is right just because one of us is too lazy to fact check what the other one was claiming to be true. That just leads into a false sense of rightousness as far as i can tell.
