These last few days I saw your videos for the first time and can't get enough of them. I love how you explain evey plant. You give so much knowledge, which I can follow. I am in Minnesot so zone 3-4 and have found so many that I can use and especially deer resistant plants. Love it.

As a long time gardener at least 50 years getting dirty I enjoy the lists. We recently moved from our 6 acre haven with a pond and a creek to a cookie cutter house on a extremely small lot with no trees in south west MI. This spring I'm ready to create again and your channel is one of those little blessings. Than you

Thank you. Even though we are always sad to leave a garden, starting a new one can be just as great, it's new and fresh and different.

Michelle, Roxanne geranium was named plant of the century as well! I did not know Jeanna phlox was on this list. I have it on order this year. Have several of these! Great video. Don’t think I’ve ever seen this topic covered. Be nice if you do a couple more videos and cover all of them.

The aralia sun-king I bought off bluestone perennials as a plant. This gets bigger and more beautiful as the years go. It is in dappled shade. It is a beast. Beautiful light lime green foliage. Planted it next to my hydrangea. It dies to the ground in fall. Comes up mid May here in south east pa . It’s around 4 feet high with a big spread. You must get this

I have 2 sunkings and love them, including the unique flower spikes for flower arrangements. I do not find them needing a lot of extra water in my garden (zone 5, Toronto area Ontario), but on really hot days will droop but bounce back with cooler evening temperatures. A must in part shade/shade gardens. Slow to break ground in spring but grow fast once finally pop up

Great informative video! My garden is in IL too, I have more than 12 varieties of phloxes in my garden. Unfortunately, deer really like to eat them even some of the varieties saying deer resistant. I will try this new variety this year. Thanks!

wow Linda...I love phlox too...I really struggle with it though too and losing it to the deer, so I don't have any at the house. I do have some nice ones growing along the road at the garden center though and I love those.

I started growing perennials the same as you over 35 years ago. Trial and error. I would also like to suggest Gasplant (Dictamus) a plant that is not usually mentioned. Bonny zone 5b Canada

We live in Hawaii but also have a home in mountain home Arkansas. 6b/7a over there. I love growing in both locations. I tried flower farming in Arkansas a couple years ago. Too expensive if your are grassroots doing it. Plus we have three kids. So for now home gardening and just studying as learning. I would love to know more on how the business side of a nursery works. Do you have any resources I can study?

Do you have any suggestions for a perennial garden situated under a huge black walnut tree. It gets lots of sun. We lost 4 forsythia bushes (one by one). Big time deer pressure. Thank you, Kim ( Buffalo, New York)

I tried two Aralia Sun King. They were beautiful and grew so fast and full! Unfortunately, something (insect) ate them so badly. I tried everything, but nothing worked. I couldn't even identify which pest was the problem. Just holes all over the leaves. I took them out and replaced with Heuchera. Heart-broken!

How do I plant rose of sharon that I rooted from cuttings, they're are in water cups now thanks
@gardeningTLC
@gardeningTLC 5 ай бұрын
From the cups of water I would plant them in a pot of potting mix with excellent drainage and let them continue to grow until spring. They can get more rooted. Harden them off before planting and put them in the ground after it warms up (Usually not until June) I would protect them after I put them in the ground if they are really little
