Pre-kindergarten students at McAllen ISD's Perez Elementary were recognized during the school's Early Language Explorers Celebration held May 23, 2024. The students received certificates of achievement following their first year in McAllen ISD's Dual Language Program. In a Dual Language system, students learn to read, write and speak in two languages (English and Spanish), making them bi-literate. McAllen ISD's Dual Language elementary schools include Fields, Gonzalez, Jackson, McAuliffe, Milam, Perez & Sanchez.
