After watching this video, I wrapped one of my walking sticks using this method. Some advice: Make your knots tight, I mean put on a glove and really get down on it. Make sure that you " Twist it " until it's tight after a few wraps. If you don't make it as tight as possible, it will slip out on you. Paracord typically makes good knots, but for this application, the knots must be extremely tight. I used this method for latching a flashlight to the middle of the same stick, but I didn't use Paracord. I used #32 bankline and bankline, which actually makes tighter knots much smaller in diameter but still around the 350lb tension strength of 550 Paracord. It didn't come out as pretty as Paracord, but it definitely isn't going anywhere Overall, good video and easy instructions

Perfect! Fixing up my Brazos walking stick with that today. I plan on using the firecord type paracord. Thanks for the clear instructions.

I just did this on my own walking stick. Worked perfectly fine the first time, even the measurements were spot on. Thx.

I use this wrap a lot for military retirement gifts that I do. I learned from someone else but I'll definitely be sharing this video with other people that want to learn. Good stuff!

Took me a few tries but I got it. Directions said to use 12 feet of paracord for about 6 inches of coverage, i had to double that for my kids' hiking staff so he can grow with it.

Hello, if you have other ideas for walking sticks or canes I'm curious to see how we can customize our walking sticks for example, using one myself I'd like to customize it but I can't find ideas that are both not too complicated and pretty, so if you could show us some examples of what we can do on a cane it would be nice as a little video, right?

Correction: that’s a *former* mandrel. It’s no longer a mandrel, but a whooping stick with custom paracord grip and wrist lanyard.

I've done this without adding the hand loop just to experiment so thanks for that, did you know you can reverse the direction to take it back up and down that gives it an unique look.

This was pretty cool, do you have any other versions or ideas for wrapping a handle? I just bought my first light saber and kinda want to do a handle wrap to add to the look and make it a bit different than everyone else's.

Looks pretty cool, I consider using it for a fishing rod handle. I wonder how well it sticks though? if you're putting it around something with a very smooth surface, it's probably a good idea to have something for better grip underneath 🤔

Hi. Do you think this would work on a non cylindrical object? Like a racket grip that is not really round?

This wrap used to be very popular on navy ships to decorate handrails and such, especially in places like the bridge.

Is there a DIY way to join two 1mm elastic threads/cord to each other to complete a loop/circle. In real life some small hair rubber band kinda accesories made out of elastic threads are jointed that way. It looks like some sort of heat press was used. If you can share a hack then I would be grateful

Worked good, however I only got about 1 spiral out of 12 feet of cord. My stick is a lot thicker than the one you used.. which probably explains it. I also wish more videos were made for left handed people so we didn't have to figure out how to reverse everything.

You have a crazy skill on explaining things in the most complicated way possible. Low key I feel like it would be easier to just watch the video without sound. Dope video though. I'm really upset that all of the videos with cool thumbnails are literally a one minute trailer

I have to turn the volume off. 😂 One was a story about his torturous night of camping. It was so dangerous and exciting that he never went back. There were bugs and critters and he had to eat marshmallows that he had to cook himself. To top it all off, he had to sleep in the ground! The nerve of those people!
