I absolutely ADORE the How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy. Hiccup and Toothless’ arc together from the first film to the third is so good. I think all three are great to amazing films and all contain great humor, animation, and emotion. And don’t even get me started on that heavenly score 😮‍💨 It’s one of those trilogy’s that if I watch the first film I have to watch the rest immediately after.

Here’s the Most UNDERRATED trilogy in my opinion. The Gamera Heisei Trilogy. Released in the late 90’s and Produced by Daie Studios. The thing that makes this trilogy a masterpiece is that is had every reason for it to go wrong and be left in the dust. Godzilla was more Popular, No One heard of Gamera, Daie was nearing Bankruptcy, and Gamera was a Japanese Kid’s Franchise, not meant to be taken seriously. But the talented artists behind this trilogy gave us what is considered by Kaiju Scholars as some of, if not, the Greatest Kaiju Movies of all Time. The effects withstand the test of time, many if the characters leave lasting impressions, and despite this starting out as a Godzilla Bootleg made for Kids, it has Dark, realistic, and Serious Themes, And these films set the standard for Kaiju Flicks moving forward. I greatly recommend this Trilogy if you want to get into Kaiju Movies or Japanese Films in general. I personally would put Gamera’s Heisei Trilogy as the Last Spot.

If we can accept the fact that 4th movie and beyond are not canon and where made to cash in on the momentum of the series, i'd say pirates of the Caribbean. Also kizuminogatari is a solid, self contained trilogy. I personally like the whole matrix trilogy as well.

I know the Hunger Games isn’t really a trilogy since the last book was split apart into two movies (Mockingjay Pt. 1 & 2) but I still think it could fit into this list and I would put it at 7 or 8. Catching Fire is one of the best sequels ever made, and the original movie still holds up today.

Dude, thank you for including the "Before" trilogy. I think it's super underrated and more people should be talking about it. It's literally the life on tape. With that said, I don't think I'll be watching "Midnight" again anytime soon. It hit too hard.

I know they're video games and not movies, but the classic Spyro the Dragon trilogy is peak. There were plenty of good games after, but the classic PS1 trilogy just hits different.

terminator started off with a bang with 1 and 2 but then it got progressively worse with 4 being the only ok one.

All of these trilogies are great. I have to give high props for including the Before trilogy. I would also include The Godfather movies, the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, and the Bourne trilogy.

How could you not even think of including the John wick trilogy, it not only kept up to the previous and people's expectations but it surpassed it and literally set the bar very high for action movies.

Horror specialist here. The OG Final Destination trilogy. Perfect in the sense that they are consistently great movies that range from incredible to still great at it’s least. The fourth one after that is the only bad film and the fifth one is amazing but it’s a special case I won’t elaborate on for spoilers

Just wanted to say that I feel like if someone watched all GOTG movies without any other marvel movies they would still understand it. They would miss some stuff but for the most part you’d be fine with just the trilogy. That’s just what I think. Love your stuff btw ❤❤

I definitely think the karate kid trilogy is one of the best. Stays consistently entertaining throughout all three movies and has one of the best stories in the 80's.

The heisei gamers trilogy, those movies are incredible. The quality of those films just increase exponentially.

I’d say the Cornetto trilogy is really good. All the movies are really fun and have some great moments. Edgar Wright does an amazing job as the director and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are really underrated as a duo. For me it’s a 9/10

GOTG Vol. 3 was the last movie I saw with my best friend at the time, so it only makes it more emotional for me personally. Definitely a surprise. When it comes to originality for movies as a medium, you can’t beat Star Wars. I think The Empire Strikes Back may be the greatest movie of all time. Oh. And the Cornetto Trilogy could easily be your #10. Every movie is 10/10, but The World’s End… that one is 11/10. I really love the Raimi Spidey movies too. I know the third one is definitely not great, but it has a very lovable charm. I really hope the Spider-Verse trilogy de-thrones LOTR. Because the way those movies are going so far, my gosh… those movies are the reason I don’t believe superhero fatigue is real. The writing in the MCU is weaker, but superheroes as a whole are definitely still relevant, more important than ever, and I think, they always will be.

Toy Story and Pirates of the Caribbean I would include as well. While they do have more entries in the franchise the "trilogy(1-3)" of each tell a complete story.

Out of all the trilogies I’ve seen, I think my favorite one has to be the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. I have honorable mentions like Clerks, Sam Raimi Spider-Man, and even Child’s Play. But with Kung Fu Panda 3 not being on par with KFP2, It never felt like it was a cash grab & a pretty good ending for the franchise too

Hannibal Lecter Trilogy (Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon) The 1st movie completely eclipses the other 2 movies in this trilogy if not most cinema period but they're all still really good movies. Anthony Hopkins literally created a cultural phenomenon with that character. You don't even have to have seen these movies to quote them. Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End) Depending on your opinion of World's End this could be another 10/10 threepeat trilogy or a trilogy with a good but underperforming third act. Just a fantastic set of comedy movies in all different genres Bourne Trilogy (Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum) This trilogy turned Matt Damon into a household name and it's just an absolute smashing action series that most audiences probably write off into that vague bucket of action movies in the 2000s trying to be James Bond but this one runs that in strides and created a whole new wave of Bondlike films.
