This was by far the BEST tutorial about this process. Not a lot of talking.... Just doing it. I applaud ur simple but factual way u present it. Never thought about hand sewing... AMAZING!

Even though I began quilting in 2004 I still consider myself a “newbie” and videos like this takes a lot of the tension and frustration of quilting for me ..whew! Thanks

Thanks for showing us your special design techniques which are beautiful. Before I looked at hexagons and said, 'forget it' but now I think "I'll try it"! I also envision the ideal Amish setting with women in a circle. Using your method, all hexagons are beautiful!! Thanks again.

my mind is blown now. I didn't know you can handpiece with the running stitch. And look how fast it is. I always sew with machine, The only thing I do by hand is binding. I must try this. Thank you for a great tutorial!

Thanks for posting this video. Years ago, I used to struggle with inset seams. By trial and error, I discovered that I'd be OK if I just remembered to *always* start and end my stitching *exactly* at the quarter inch mark(dot). And then I made a baby blocks baby quilt with no problem. But if I'd seen this video first, I could have learned how easily without all those years of frustration!

I love hand piecing. You can always get such perfect points with a needle and thread, plus it''s relaxing and you can do it anywhere. However, I've never seen it done so smoothly and quickly. I will be trying your method of sewing. Which I'd seen it 30 years ago. How good at it would I be by now. How much time would I have saved. Great video Jinny. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

thank you so much for this tutorial I am sharing the link with a new friend at QCA who is starting a 'y' seam star quilt. As JasminA stated below I would have had a better time learning this process 20 years ago had there been You Tube and you Jinny.. lol

I have your puzzle book Jinny (along with many others), made a couple of puzzle balls years ago for my kitty (RIP Baby) and found the templates and book again now that I have a granddaughter. This was a wonderful refresher. I went to your website and I see you retired. I hope you have the best retirement and go amazing places and have time filled with family and love. You were always a part of my quilting journey.

An added suggestion for those new to hand sewing is to mark the sewing line dot to dot. Your work is beautiful, but for beginners sewing a straight line takes practice; having the line marked helps. Thank you for your clear, concise video.

Utterly astonishing hand-stitching! However, I need to ask about ironing/pressing after you're done with the sewing. Do you press to 'the dark side'? Would be grateful for any tips. Thank you.
