In this episode of The Common Sense MD, Dr. Rogers praises the new class of medications for weight loss (i.e. Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) and specifically how Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is different from a semaglutide.

I lost 75 pounds on Mounjaro. That was Mounjaro, diet changes, and exercise (resistance training w/LIIFT 4 and cardio). I am now in the post Mounjaro phase, but still have the diet changes, walking, resistance training with LIIFT More and tracking with Lose It app. The key for me after getting to the post Mounjaro phase has been keeping the healthy habits that got men to healthy levels Actually have lost 2.3 inches from the waist post Mounjaro, by keeping those habits. Also, the post Mounjaro weight loss is now 5.2 pounds in 45 days

Good job keeping up the healthy habits after Mounjaro. How long were you on Mounjaro? How many MGs?
@Robert_Armstrong Жыл бұрын
@@mjsthx1138 Thank you! First month 2.5, primarily 5 mg except two injections of 7.5 when the 5 was not available, then back to 5mg. Creating the healthy habits when taking Mounjaro were key, my wife always said “don’t waste the Mounjaro” and that helped keep my focus to create new habits. Since my last injection on April 14, I have continued to drop, weight, down 80-82 now.

Thanks for your support and helping to get the word out. I am at week 40 and down 36 pounds. A1C went from 7.6 to 5.4 and now my diabetes is in full remission. A life changing drug.

i was prescribed Ozempic, but my insurance will not pay unless I am diabetic. This is so disgusting. I am pre diabetic and i have 100 pounds to lose. So my insurance company is saying that i should continue gaining weight until I have diabetes, and then they will cover the medication. THis is so stupid. Obesity is a disease, therefore medication should be covered. Period.

Yeah it makes zero sense when they can prevent someone from becoming fully diabetic. The entire medical field is about profit and keeping people sick. Maybe add Berberine to arsenal. It’s pretty cheap and there are a lot of videos on it. It’s not like the Rx drugs but it can help.

I took Ozempic for about 5 months. I only lost 10 pounds on Ozempic. After a few months of taking it it actually started increasing my appetite and it made me crave sweets. My insurance paid for it but my doctor wouldn't prescribe it for me. I ended up getting it from an online doctor. I stopped taking Ozempic now for 2 months and I haven't regained the 10 pounds. I am working out daily (walking, weights, yoga, bike riding, hiking) and my diet is very clean with a lot of water. I have not lost any more weight. I have an appointment with the online doctor and I'm going to ask for Mounjara. I am willing to pay out of pocket for it. Hopefully I can get the prescription and try it. Even better if my insurance pays. I need to lose 40 more pounds. It's sad I have to go through so much to get the prescription. I'm lucky I can afford it. I know most people could not.

Agree about the corn syrup! Every food has it these days. Companies trying to save money. Wish it would go away.

I love the way you explain this and wondering if you can compound mounjaro and approximate cost. I’ve been on it for (4) months and lost about 14 pounds. I’m paying about $280/M and my income is limited. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have lost 108 pounds in 8 months on Manjuro ! I am having to change to Oz in august because my coupon card is running out! I am afraid that my weight loss will stall on the switch !

I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks in bed after surgery on mounjaro. I switched over to ozempic because my insurance wouldn’t take the mounjaro and gained the 20 lbs back.
@jimmycasey6400 Жыл бұрын
@@Kchosk that is not encouraging. Why do you think you gain it back?
@Kchosk Жыл бұрын
@@jimmycasey6400 I could barely eat on mounjaro. Semiglutide didn’t work nearly as well. The starting dose for ozempic is .25 then .5, now I’m at 1mg. It’s still not as strong as the starting dose of mounjaro.

How do we get help from you? Do you do Tele health?

I’m betting none of the studies showing weight gain after a year or two were not with people on a carnivore diet.

Do you feel that it is dangerous with all of the random providers using compounding phamacies to create these medications. It is basically impossible for someone to get the namebrand medication due to the mass influx of people wanting to try them.

Great video, I wonder what is the cheapest tele-clinic you can go to if you are not a diabetic and want to lose 40-50 pounds?

You need to go in person but Forum Health is great. Get it as a compound pharmacy semiglutide

I've been on this Mounjaro crap for 5 weeks, not a god damn difference. I monitor my intake carefully and have started an exercise program. I'm on 5mg every week and so far not a damn bit of difference....this crap sucks.
