She isn't saying that Haechan is better, she's pointing out what makes him talented in his own way. His style is more fluid while Taeyong is rigid, she's trying to show how each member has their own style.

I also think that one of the reasons that Haechan dances like he does is because he used to practice ballet (If i'm not wrong) and the he learned a lot of his techniques there

Seriously, this is probably one of the best fanmade series on youtube, especially when it comes to idol dance. You can tell OP is very passionate about dance and took the time out to dissect, show examples, and explain dance and the techniques in a way that's not only understandable to a non-dancer but also makes it interesting to watch. It really shows that there is more to dance than just hard choreography and having stage presence.

Love your reaction, very informative commentary. People tend to look over the fact that Haechan is a great dancer cause he's known for his powerful vocals. The great thing about Haechan is he's not an excellent dancer at the start of his career but he never stops working hard to improve his skills and facial expression. You can watch his old to new fancams to see his beautiful transformation. Elegant and sexy is definitely the words for Haechan's style.

I REALLY love Haechan's dance style. I like smooth elegant type dance style more personally, and I LOVE when hr get praised for his dance because even though he's an amazing vocalist, just because that's a talent he has, doesn't mean he doesnt have any other talents, you feel me?😂 I low key feel like the only thing stopping him from becoming main dancer is that he already has a big vocal role and maybe they don't want him to have too many roles or feel pressured to be main vocalist and main dancer material if that makes sense. I feel like he has everything you need in a main dancer, but at the same time, all members in NCT are low key main dancers and positions in kpop shouldn't be taken too seriously, just because you're not main, doesn't mean you're not good, ya know? Anyways that's just my opinion. I'm happy to see that Haechan get recognized for his dancing, especially because he's my bias in NCT (well most of the time...I am mostly OT21 kind of person but Haechan has special place in my heart💚)

The reason why she included haechans turn jump for reference was because he turn jumped but not the other members, she just mentioned the arm and leg movements to explain why the turn jump was better than the normal jump.

Haechan has said he learned different styles of dancing so it makes sense that he has good technique also I do worry about idols who do extreme moves especially Taeyong, which the channel addresses in their recent video

Haechan's understanding in body shapes and lines in dancing comes with his backgrond in Dance Sports, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet. He mentioned in an interview he did learned everything in dancing. Also he mentioned he competed in Dance Sports and won 1st place against older contestants when he was young.

Haechan’s dancing always has reminded me of Exo Kai’s, SHINee Taemin’s and Vixx N’s dancing, maybe because haechan is a ballet and contemporary dancer himself. From the first time i saw him dance, as a former ballerina myself, i knew from the get-go that this boi had done some ballet himself. That kind of balance and elegance is rare in many kpop idols these days and one of the few idols who did that VERY VERY WELL is Vixx N who is a VERY UNDERRATED dancer in kpop. This boi is the next Taemin, i tell you, especially after seeing him dance to Move.

btw: She has said that for this first part (Haechan) she cut a lot of analysis out because she was worried it would be boring and it is shorter than the rest of her videos. In her other videos (Winwin, Yuta, TY) she actually goes into even more detail about the more technical aspects of it. What I like about it is that she points out each member's talents and styles while not degrading the other members. Also, she is so eloquent with her words- like Winwin's video especially made me so emotional with her commentary at the end. Again, I do like the other videos better. They just are more emotional and have more analysis. But obviously, this first one is amazing as well This series is one of my favorite series on youtube and I love that shaky raindrop has continued to make them despite being so busy with schoolwork and how time-consuming making these videos are. PS: She actually still a student in college. If you read the description on the video, she warns us that she is "not teacher or a pedagogue" and to take her analysis with a grain of salt. She has studied ballet for a very long time though

Wow this was a series I didn't expect you would react to! But as an aspiring animator I would like to also add on to the conversation of shapes and body lines. As much as it is a stylistic choice in dancing, and not saying that if people don't apply this then they're bad dancers XD but clear shapes and body lines are just naturally extremely appealing to the eye, it makes the image and the movement of the body more easily understandable and flow better to the eye of the viewer; so animators work to create very clear shapes when animating, so that viewers can very quickly tell what is happening and also find the movements satisfying to look at. Know that clear shapes and bodylines don't necessarily mean just fluid lines, but also boxy and straight lines; they just provide a satisfying sense of clarity to the eyes, or atleast that's what I've learned haha. I think applying this to dance just makes things very interesting and overall can increase how appealing a choreography looks because it's not something that is consciously applied to everyday movement that we do but rather an enhancement of movements that makes the dance more special. I've followed NCT for sometime and you can definitely see how different each member dances!! My personal favourites to watch are Haechan, Mark, Taeyong, Renjun, Jisung, Ten and Winwin. They way they dance just seems more interesting to me as someone who needs to study movement for my whole career hahahha. Shaky Raindrop did a few more of these and she recently just uploaded one about Taeyong (in 2 parts XD) and I think you should check it out!

Haechan is my bias wrecker in NCT! As baby NCTzen I just got the opportunity to dig in to NCT during quarantine period and followed them religiously during Punch promotions. Ive watched their individual fancams and I must really say there are a lot of moves that Haechan executes better. It is just so good to watch specially the first verse. You can spot the difference with other members. For me, Haechan should be placed in the top NCT dancers but I always think his dance is being overlooked.

The cherry bomb choreo, I had that choreo for my both Chinese traditional dance and modern dance. I know that is really risky that me and my team, we help each other out to get the position to land and get up from that position. The cherry bomb shocked me because some of them seem to fall instead of land

I just want to clarify about the shoulder movement - we actually have a word for that in ballet, it’s called “epaulment” (pronounced ay-pawl-maw), and it means “shouldering.” It’s basically how you move your head, neck, shoulders, and chest to add more emphasis to your movement and make it look better. So, yes, the way Haechan uses his shoulders is probably stylistic just because he’s doing more hip hop not ballet in NCT’s choreographies, but the shoulder movement, epaulment, is on the technical side of movement!

I just wanted to tell you that; as a dancer it is so satisfying watching another dancer react to kpop videos because I often see things in the choreography very differently and my friends tend to stare at me like I'm insane. That's why I love your videos because you see things that I see and react the same way that I would. It just feels good to be able to relate.

11:48 i agree. i remember seeing a clip somewhere of nct performing cherry bomb while it was raining slightly and it looked taeyong fell pretty hard on his back because he slipped and then someone else (i think jungwoo) didn't go down all the way bc of the water. if the choreographer had taught them a specific way that fit the five that go down, it would just be easier and safer overall and they wouldn't have to do learn how to do it on their own.

You should react to Yuta’s too, I just watched it because I was curious since I always thought that his dance was prince like and elegant, and in the it was true. So yeah I would really appreciate ( when you have time of course)

You actually managed to put in your own input and info tidbits where certain topics were brought up, you're one of the few youtubers that tackle k-pop that give a true insight to a dancer's world and I really do hope you never get tired of doing as such cause as a fellow dancer, as much as I want to put out similar content, I just don't have the time which just truly makes me admire you more. And as for 4:00 I think the comparison revolved as to how Haechan managed and was tasked to do the turn because not only for reasons of space but he had the surety of the knowledge and technique to do so where as opposed to all of them doing it because aside from it takes much effort to properly pull it off, this comeback was very rushed as well, not in the terms of preparation, rather, it was rushed in the continuity of promotions as this was promoted directly after their north American legs of the tour
