it makes me kinda sad that winwin isn’t normally praised for his dancing due to his native style being so different than the styles of nct/wayv but he is so talented. when he’s dancing in styles he’s more comfortable with due to his training his talent really shines and it’s beautiful to see, i hope we get to see more of it in the future.

winwin also had a very short training period. he joined sm in late 2015/early 2016 and debuted in july 2016 so while the other members were trainees for years and years under sm learning hip hop dancing, winwin was learning traditional chinese dance and only had less than a year to adjust to hip hop and also to learn to sing, rap, and learn the korean language. the wayv members (besides ten) all have similar training periods to winwin but they debuted later, meaning they had more time to build up their foundation on hiphop while having little to no background in dance (those that did had background in hiphop) so they were built up for their choreos from a clean slate

Winwin himself is an art. He's so mesmerizing to watch whenever he dances his craft, truly breathtaking.

i definitely think the primary difference between winwin vs jimin or kai who are better at "transitioning" between styles is time! despite their classically trained backgrounds jimin got into street dance and kai was already into kpop choreo when they were like 13, so they were given ample time at a solid age to adjust their styles whereas winwin never really had that; he was already a seasoned, high school dancer when sm scouted him (one of the literal best in his age group in the entire country given his education and exam scores) and then was tossed to debut in just a year, so he was never given time to tweak his style to better fit more hip hop esque choreo and really get used to moving his body differently.

Actually SM has surprisingly been letting WayV members release their own projects, just recently Xiaojun uploaded a dance performance choreographed by Ten to a track Kun produced. I think if Winwin wanted to release a traditional dance video he could, but perhaps he just lacks confidence to do it? I often notice that Winwin is sometimes a bit hesitant and shy to show off his talents. But who knows, there's also the possibility that as you said, trad. dance might just be out of brand for NCT so they don't let him release stuff like that. I think Kun recently hinted at a Rainbow V season 2 so fingers crossed we get to see more things like Lovely from Winwin!!

Winwin never loselose. To become an artist, dancing is not everything, singing is not everything, although its important but the presence on stage, attracting the attention of the audience and making them indulge in what you do, empathizing with what you are performing, everything combined makes one an artist. Winwin might not be the best in dancing to some kpop upbeat songs but it doesn't matter. He has that aura in things he does that attracts people.

Whenever any of my Kpop friends ask me why I believe Winwin is one of the best dancers in NCT, I use the analogy in this video. Hiphop and Kpop dance is his second dance language. He just hasn’t become fluent. He still needs to translate the dance into his body instead of speaking it without thinking or needing to translate. His movements have an amazing grace to them even when dancing really intense and harsh NCT songs. He’s captivating in his own way and he’s truly not praised enough for his dance. He’s average in the element of Kpop dance, but in his own element, he excels, and is unmatched. One song I would love to see Winwin’s rendition of is Ten’s “Dream in a Dream”. It would be so beautiful and so interesting to see how Winwin would interpret that song with his traditional roots. And honestly, I really don’t think Winwin needs to change. If he gets better, then I will be very happy for him. But I don’t want him to get better by abandoning his traditional roots. It’s what makes him unique and gives him his interesting aura when dancing. I just love the way Winwin dances. I initially made him my overall NCT bias because of his aura when he dances and how odd his dance style was.

I am not going to lie this video made me so emotional the first time I watched it. Winwin was my bias and like... just how SM fcking flew to China like 7 times to recruit Winwin and how Winwin agreed to give up his education (at one of the best schools in China), learned a dancing style so different to the one he's been trained for all his life, only to have so little opportunities to show the skills he's trained so hard for his entire life and had SM constantly mistreat him... 😡

There's really something about Winwin that's just defines beauty and grace, be it his appearance or talent, he exudes it.

winwin was my bias in 127 before he left, and watching that analysis video made me tear up because he deserves so much better in this industry. sm needs to create a space for him to really shine, they're wasting a phenomenal, unique talent. he has a gift for storytelling through his dancing

i think the reason why winwin is my bias and why i have supported him for so long is because of how beautifully he dances. and i really hope one day, he can make more projects with his technical training. it's simply beautiful and it would be a shame if he spent majority of his life learning it, only to throw it away. it deserves to be showcased and I can't wait for his future solo works.

The winwin analysis made my shaky raindrop was the video that made me appreciate and admire winwin (and stan nct even more). He’s just a beautiful piece of art that you can’t take your eyes off. I truly believe he’s one of the best in the kpop industry in his forte.

“Death of an Artist” Have you seen the Taeyong analysis? I don’t think that’s what she/he meant. It seemed like she was referring to his actual literal body. He’s evidently a “mutant” of sorts...can’t remember the name for it but I've seen it before. You just need to see the (2 part) video...says his body will self destruct if he continues dancing the way he does.

He isn't the best dancer of nct, but he is the one of the great dancer of nct. We know that nct have many great dancers.

SM, NCT/WayV just don't do Winwin enough justice. He's an amazing work of art and just so underutilized that its frustrating. The few times he got to show his true abilities have been amazing and mesmerizing, but its few and far in between that he gets those moments. I'm just hoping SM hears the fans and figure out a way to showcase Winwin's strengths more.

Sm is literally suffocating Winwins talent and his potential, they treat him like a backup dancer and singer they don’t even let him participate in the acting roles he’s been offered. i’ve been doing ballet for 12 years now and i’ve always admired chinese traditional dance, which is probably why winwin is one of my favourite dancers in kpop. this video was so relatable like i completely feel the same way about the squirrel thing when learning a new style that requires different techniques from ballet because i’ve been moulded into the classical techniques for my whole dance life. also bruh the part at the end omg i almost cried winwin is such a beautiful dancer :,))))

Winwin needs more recognition. If SM didn't ask him a lot of times to join he is probably still in his own world. I feel like out of the WayV members Sicheng has the most potential to be an actor. I always felt that when I am watching Sicheng. He can portray emotions really well. for someone who danced mainly Chinese traditional dance for six years then transition to hip hop is not going to be perfect. he trained for less than a year before debuting with nct and yet he adapted beautifully. he’s definitely an underdog and underrated. his imperfections makes him perfect.

You should watch Yuta's first, and then watch Taeyong's. Taeyong's is actually two parts, so make sure you watch them in order!

I think WinWin has been able to start getting used to NCT’s style with WayV, especially because their more fluid style offers a bit more of a safe space for him. He seemed like he didn’t miss any steps for Turn Back Time and there were even some moves that I felt he did better than some of the other members. It seems to me that he’s starting to manage a more relaxed style while still keeping some of the form that he began with. I’m really excited to see what he can show us for the next comeback now that he’s on his way to getting the hang of it.

I think with the parts he messes up the choreo it might just be me but I think it could be because of him only rewinding under SM for a year but idk because Renjun and Chenle didn’t even train for that long and I have no idea about their dance skills.

Yessssss, I love Winwin's dance. It's so elegant to me so it makes me sad that he's underrated.

This makes me really cry cause Winwin is being left out too much in NCT. But no one realizes that he's unique. Pop is like not for him although he can execute it but his style is what really suits him and i wish that he could showcase that to us someday and make everyone realizes that he's a rare gem not just in NCT but in the world of Kpop.

24:38 Actually, I disagree with your comment on imitating Ten’s emotions during the Lovely dance. I think one should instead look to Winwin’s emotions and acting. I found his expression at the very end, when he is embracing Ten, to be very moving. It added so much to the performance. Additionally, although it is not as clear in the official video on the WayV channel, if you look at videos of this dance during other performances, look specifically at WinWin when he is pulling Ten toward him at the end. (An example is this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLZira2ps6ezkZ8.html, look at 1:27) His expression then is so profound. It really shows his theatrical training. Additionally, WinWin is currently studying at the Central Academy of Drama, China’s top acting school. In the entrance exam for that school, he placed 10th overall among all of the applicants nationwide. That shows some real acting chops.

I really like the dancer analysis series of nct. I can’t wait for you to see Taeyong’s two part one and give your opinion.

Although I'm not a dancer or anywhere near understanding it I can actually Identify what your saying and put it into the understanding of a profession of my own. I have always notice the way winwin has moved in choreography and in other ways he moves. Simply just looking at the tip of his fingers while he's doing something you'll notice it. Chinese traditional dance has been engraved in his dancing and moves itself. While he is still up to par with others in nct he's not the main one you'll notice just because of how awkward his moves can get. Chinese traditional dance is like breathing for him at some point. Trying to teach him anything else out of the realm of that is like trying to put any color over black. It's simply impossible to do that as we know. Just as the video said it's his "accent" in dancing. This is why many companies try to get someone who knows nothing at all as you have said in another video. They can paint that person how ever they want cause they are a plain canvas. Taeyong. They can't paint someone like winwin though. His canvas has already been filled up and signed, no outlines to be completed or spaced to be filled in. That's why when he does come into something in his realm it's absolute perfection almost (no one can be perfect). I loved the part of no beat though. They do tend to draw out their movements and it fits into THAT play of style. This is just a repeat of what you said and everything but the whole time I loved it and the clarity you brought with your words is just amazing.

I’m a dancer who’s not trained in traditional Chinese dancing but in ballet (and others) and I just sit in awe whenever I see WinWin dance. People don’t realise how hard his dance style is. It’s truly a shame he doesn’t get enough praise💜

Winwin is so amazing. I wish he got more chance to show his chinese dance training off. It’s sad that he’s never been able to show properly. Even though he’s shown in lovely his style he needs to be able to do more. Ten has had at least 4 dances alone in his time and he’s even got a solo song. I wish Winwin would be able to do that too. I really want to see him in his element. Sometimes people say he is one of the worst dancers when they see him but that’s just because he’s not in his genre, his dance style. I want him to show what he can do. Like Ten has. The team with WAYV is definitely better at letting them do more of what they want to do than in the rest of nct. But I still want him to be able to do a solo by himself. I know that kun has been doing producing and yangyang was even in a song he did rapping. Xiaojun has done a cover singing. I know he loves singing and playing his guitar. Lucas could do whatever he wants, like he could literally just strut down a cat walk and id watch. Point is they should all be able to do solo stuff so they can show what they want to show to us. Even if it’s just small videos. I just wanna see my boy Winwin do his dancing.

i was so upset when sm denied the role he auditioned for. he can’t show his dancing ability because kpop is more influenced in other styles of dancing. like ten mentioned, he can tell stories through dancing and his facial expressions. i’d kill to see him in a drama and show his abilities.

Watching this again after 90's love era made me so much proud of our Winwin I mean I can totally see his improvements on Urban/Hiphop dances. Him just being on that unit say so much on his capabilities now. KEEP SHINING OUR SICHENG ♡

I think that it's good Winwin is in WayV because he has Ten who really appreciate him, we know how perfectionist is Ten and how skilled and the fact the he said that he has many things to learn from Winwin is so nice, I hope someone see that and appreciate him more and give him same solo to dance.

He is so me I mean, I learned the traditional Indonesian dance at university (I am a dance student), before learning dance at university, I started from urban dance first and meeting friends who started from traditional dance, I had to work twice as hard as I did because I was off from a different basic, it took time for me to perfect my posture, technique and facial expressions. But there comes a time when we have a free appearance for urban dance, at the moment I feel more confident and see for myself how most of my friends are having a hard time catching the tempo and doing the movements right. Here I realize what our body looks like given how it's used to being trained and used, the different styles and techniques of contrast make us weak and strong in each other

Your comment on timing also reminds me of when I was in a symphonic band (which is mostly wind instruments) and another player who was experienced playing in more of an orchestral setting (with string and wind instruments) kept having a delayed entrance for their solo. We narrowed it down to how they were interpreting the downbeat given by the conductor because for string instruments there’s a delay so they were always a touch late. Just goes to show that it could just be a miscommunication or misinterpretation rather than a who’s better (training and talent aside).

always when i try learning some dance moves i think about how the idols would dance it and winwin is one of them, he is just such an amazing dancer, he doesn't just dance with his body but also with his mind and that's what's so beautiful and special about him. it's so sad that he can't show his real talent in the spotlight but the good thing is that we know what he is able to. shaky's videos with the anathomy of a dancer always make me cry, especially at the end when she/he is praising every member, it just makes me feel so proud to think that they are sacrificing their time, health and habits only to show their best. i wish they could stop telling themselves what they've messed up during the performance, but stay concentrated and think about the things they did great and amazing. i can't wait till you watch the next parts because it's just so exciting to see someone react to shaky's series because they are worth it. i am so thankful to her/him for doing these videos because they show their real talents and abilities🥺❤

I've been waiting for this! When I found this video last year I watched like 4 times in a row. I love Winwin so much and I wish sm would implement his strengths into wayv's concepts every once in a while. It hurts that he's not allowed to shine. Also, for the come back dance practice, Winwin, having been a part of nct 127 had known that choreography for quite some time.

This was the first video I watched from ShakyRaindrop and I fell in love with it and started to watch all of her videos. She explained how individualism of every member makes NCT/WAYV full of life. I absolutely love watching Winwin dance. How far he is able to reach and round himself and create these beautiful shapes and movements with his body is so satisfying and beautiful. I pray that he won’t loose this. Obviously he isn’t given time or a space (I assume) to keep practicing and dancing in this sort of style anymore and I really really hope he doesn’t loose this ability. He was, and I hope still is, one of the best students from his dance school. I would hate to see him loose such a huge part of himself just because he isn’t given those chances anymore.

SM don't care if Winwin can bring his superiority into NCT group, they just want his handsome face.

I have grown fond of watching ballets and documentaries on it and so to see winwins dance style in the world of kpop is not usually something we see, as well as jimins. The lovely video was so amazing and I'm always beyond happy they were able to do that and it did challenge him. It turned out beautiful. He did an amazing job and I am so proud of him. I think that really showed off his skills as an artist. Winwin always get the short end of the stick and it hurts to see but he keeps going and we love him so much. I'm always proud. He deserves so much. He is more amazing than a lot of people realize. For sure it must be very hard going from his background to the style that nct has. I much prefer these kinds of dance styles to what regular kpop choreo is but that isnt to say those arent amazing either and worthy of praise because those are hard too. Of course I love him and want him to stay in wayv but I would love to see him perform in the style he knows best.

For the “lovely” choreography, because they both had a lot of creative input while making the choreography together. They each came up with different parts and met in the middle for some of it even though neither had any real experience with that style of dance so that’s probably why it seems like each person has their strengths throughout that song

i like what u said about the time learning choreographies bc i feel like for example with winwin for cherry bomb and other songs, in the dance practices vs more recent performances, he seems to improve the more recent the recording is
