I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. 0:10 SHINee has a song named Odd Eye too. It's a track on their album Odd from 2015 and I believe it's written by Jonghyun but I'm not sure. Anyway it's a great song

Dreamcatcher are the opposite of most kpop groups, their title tracks are always unique, creative, and ambitious, whereas their b-sides are usually more mainstream sounding. Though not always the case with the b-sides, there's a noticeable contrast.

The meaning behind the album and the songs is about haters and hate comments if you're curious. Scream is about hearing no evil, Boca is about saying no evil and Odd Eye is seeing no evil.

I'm pretty sure the reason they're saying "odd" like that is just because of their accents. It is actually the English word "odd" tho. There's probably a lot of other connections I didn't notice, but if you look at the girls, most of them have two eye colors, which I took as a reference to the name.

I got a kick out of Jeff's fascination with the pronunciation. I don't think there's any meaning there, most likely they're just pronouncing the o in "odd" like the Korean character ㅗ which creates that hard o sound. Usually when transliterating Korean, ㅗ is Romanized as "o" whereas the vowel sound we use natively to say "odd" is more likeㅏwhich would be Romanized as "a" (pronounced ah).

Jeff, please react to a girl group G-Idle. You will not be disappointing. Their voices are rounded and in lower register, and Soyeon's rape is powerful. They can be dark and scary sometimes. "Hann" is a vocal-centric song, "Lion" is a manifest of women power and a new role in society, and "Oh My God" is very contrast song.

Actually Odd Eye makes me think of the 2015 SHINee B-side which I actually believe was what popularized the "odd eye-" Two different colored lenses. But anyway, I'm really happy with this comeback- I didn't like the last two that much, but this one is sooooo good.
