I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

Them and IZ*ONE (rest in peace and power) are the 2 best female kpop groups in terms of dancing imo... all of their choreos and energy and synchronization power are just amazing. Their large number also makes it more epic while dancing while doing those intricate but beautiful imageries.

Itzy does have amazing choreography but I think compared to Loona,Iz*one, and Dreamcatcher I don’t think they’re as hard as those three. BUT I do love their choreo

i totally agree with you with the "agression" topic. after watching all of their live stages, i could say that they went harder dancing to that choreography than what they did during the filming of this dance practice! i felt like something was a little bit missing also when i watched the dance practice esp on the last chorus but i personally think they killed it on their stages more!

I mean, like most live performers, they thrive and feed off an audience. I know that my energy level and “aggression” on stage are things that are very difficult to duplicate off stage.

I think individually they go harder in the first half, but in the later section they focus more on being synchronized all together and keeping that cleanliness. and besides that, the live stages definitely give more intensity

i feel like they would’ve had to sacrifice cleanliness & synchronization if they went any harder in that last chorus? like i kinda get what you mean but i feel like the choreo needed to be more dynamic to get that level of fierceness, i’m not sure they could’ve done anything more on an individual lèvel

Agreed. I think bc dance practices are more to show off the choreography itself and they’re know for their synchronization, they wanted to keep it cleaner. You get the sense that they’re holding back, but just barely (look at Olivia, Choerry, and Yves especially during that last chorus).

so i know they halted promotions because one of their staff caught the virus and if i heard correctly, they got called in to film the practice randomly after this break. i think that two weeks off might be the reason for the drop in intensity, because they definitely go harder in the iive stages!

I agree with you. I think with the dance practice they focused more on synchronization and the imagery. But I do have to say they go harder on their live stages. They are much more aggressive there. Perhaps the choreographer instructed them to focus on the those aspects during dance practice 🤔. But like you said, I think both performances and are good, they just focus on different things and are just preferences on execution.

Thank you for always reacting to LOONA. with the agression part, I guess it's also about the message of the song. It's not like 'so what' where they can be fierce most of the time if you know what I mean. Also, originally they have their back up dancers as you can see on their MV I think that's what will sort of complete the feel of the dance. either way I am still amazed with their choreographies and their choreographer ❤️

I was analyzing the number of their formations from Butterfly to PTT, and I found out that they had 50+ different formations in each. "So What" having the most number of formations, and sadly I don't remember what song came next as I did the analysis a long time ago because I wanted to pick a song that would be best to perform with my dance group considering their stamina. Nevertheless, the formations averaged for about 50+.

I feel like this dance practice was a bit more low energy than the performances they did. When I first watched the dance practice I honestly was bit underwhelmed. I expected them to go as hard as in many of their performances. I just feel like they went trough they choreography quite a lot so they were kinda tired. That would totally make sense in my opinion. I still love this dance so much. The hole concept is just awesome.
