Such a joy to wake up to a notification! (pun not intended) Praying for you and Mr. Clay. I am sad that there is no opportunity (for me) to visit Paris to see you on that stage. There was a time when every trip to Paris always involved a ballet performance at the Opera, Garnier or Bastille. I truly love how the rest of the world supports the arts. I wish the United States did better in that respect. I loved rainy days in Paris. Much fewer tourists to contend with.

Joy, my strong recommendation is that you stay at POB at least 2 full years. They are already testing you by placing you on the other side and in front in Ballet Imperial. And being cast in Who Cares is huge. It is a small cast ballet and there are many other dancers they could have chosen who have been there longer. Promotion IS slow, but they often reach into the lower ranks for soloist roles. You are young enough to give it a full shot. The test will be if you are cast in non-Balanchine ballets, although I would love to see you in Rubies. Plus you get to live in Paris. I’m interested in your shift to Freed shoes. They were my choice when I was dancing in the US. I loved the wide flat box. Of course everyone else was wearing Capezios LOL

Joy, I have watched you for many years. I would love to see you settle down with a reputable company for several years. And, I would have to say, the Paris Opera is one of the best! Many, many principal dancers spent the first several years of their carriers in the corps, working their way up to soloist and then to principal dancer. You are a talented dancer, but you seem unwilling to spend any time dancing in the corps; and it has hindered your career. You would rather dance the lead in small companies with mediocre (at best) dancers than spend the time in a good company with well trained and talented dancers and work your way up. I have watched your videos in which you reveal all the dirty laundry within the company and complain how you are not treated fairly. Frankly, I am a bit surprised that the POB gave you a chance. DON'T BLOW IT. Put your head down, work hard, and stay the course. I have seen you leave other reputable companies because you became impatient. I do not think you will get another chance after the POB.

@@thehadster7043 Joy was on a short term contract for this specific set of performances. It’s the way POB gets dancers they need for a particular set of performances without making a long term . And the contract is over. She was in the corps de ballet and did an excellent job, taking coaching well and blending in. She has auditioned for many companies. And this was a brief breakthrough. So your comments are quite unfair.

Do show us how you customise your Freeds and tell us about your experience dancing in them vs Gaynor Mindens and why you're in Freeds now. Is it an Opera thing? Good luck and i hope you love it in Paris!

Lovley to see you joy and im so happy for you.i understand its difficult for you to film inside the theatre or rehearsals but thats okay its just such a pleasure to see you .i actually like when you are out and about showing the sights.your apartment is beautifull and Rocky is a cutie.take care.love from England as always.🌹🌹🌹

Weird how some people don't want to be filmed because they might not receive money they think they are owed. For me, I don't want to be filmed so that there is images of me for others to see to identify me so that I can be hurt from any direction by people I've never known.

The Défilé has to be one of the most French things I’ve ever seen in the ballet world. Do they do anything like that in Russia?

The Défilé is typical for the ONP. It is unique in the world. First version dates from 1926 but the actual version set on Berlioz "Marche des Troyens" was presented in 1946. Pupils from the Paris Opera dance school (called Les petits rats) parade alongside the whole company going from Quadrille up to the Étoiles. A beautiful moment of communion...

Will you be in the Défilé and in the Gala for Patrick Dupond? The fact that you are No. 1 in the corps line is both a honour and a test - you will know what I mean. There will be a breakthrough at some point. BTW, gorgeous tutu and diadem. Do you speak functional French? If not, and if possible, try to do a couple of classes a week, or on line learning. You will soon notice a difference in attitude when you can communicate more fully. I don't want to come across as patronising - you may be fluent for all I know! 🩰❤️☀️
