I love Ormonde Jayne - it’s one of my favorite houses. And not to say that they are like Chanel, but they also do have a sparkly, airy DNA. In the beginning I actually had trouble telling many of them apart because many of them smell alike. My favorites are Tolu, Ta’if, Ormonde Man, Ormonde Woman, Qi, and Prive. Recently I’ve also come to like Champaca because of the basmati note. The Osmanthus smells like a fruity tea to me. I recently tried the new line and unfortunately they are too sweet and less interesting to me. I’ll need some more time with them, but the ones I like the most are Byzance, Xandria, and Tanger. I also didn’t mind Damask, but only after a super long dry down.

They may be too sweet for me too, then. I agree they are sparkly and there is one that does remind me a lot of a Chanel fragrance, actually, so I’m glad you get that too.

i love ormonde woman too! tolu is also stunning- may pick up a full bottle in the winter. i really love that floral line they have w champaca, frangipani, osmanthus, etc. this house is just so sophisticated

You just popped up in my feed and because you were reviewing Ormonde Jayne, one of my all time favourite houses, I had to watch. I am obsessed with the ingredient quality and skillful blending of these fragrances, there is literally no OJ fragrance I do not love. But ... here in Canada they are very pricey so my pocketbook determines the size of my collection. A few that are no-fail compliment getters from my OJ collection are: Evernia (summer scent), Ta'if (any occasion all year 'round), Levant (date night), and Damask (daytime). I love Champaca and it is next on my list. Thank you for your review, always great to get the impression of others😊

I'm just coming back to this video after a while because I have an itch to round out my OJ collection. It's by far and away my favorite house. Tolu was the scent for me that opened the gates to my deep love and obsession of fragrance. Tolu still is in my top 3 fragrances of all time; it is so perfect to me.

A new subscriber here and I’m compelled enough to also write a comment. Not just because you’re Australian, but you’re the first perfume content creator that was able to pin point my problem with iso-e super on my nose. First came across you during those terrible WFH days when I saw your video reviewing your Trudon candles. They helped me to relax when we’re all stuck with no where to go! Thanks to you, I will now start collecting these Ormonde Jayne fragrances. Keep up the amazing work ❤

I love Ta'if. It reminds me a drawer in my parents house living room where they used to store pencils and some potpouri. My mum owns Ta'if too and I dare say it smells amazing on both of us. Great series Cherie, thank you.

You are just such a joy. I have not tried any, but they aren't available in Russia. I started watching you when I was in NZ. I fell instantly in love with your choice in fragrances and the way you presented the perfumes. I felt like I can trust your taste a lot. Great collection Cherie 👌🏻. I've tried quite a number of OJ, my favourite is Taif, such a lovely rose. And I've tried that new collection and thought they were just ok, not very distinctive to me. One you should try if you've not is Black Gold, it's stunning, and scarily expensive.

Ormonde Jayne woman is on my to buy list for spring/summer. You described it perfectly, it is very unique, green and fresh, but dark and deep at the same time. Beautiful. I also like Tolu and Taif.

Loving these overview videos, Cherie. I have Frangipani (one of my favorite summer fragrances), Levant, Osmanthus Elixir, and Champaca. The new Route de Soie collection is nice but kind of heavy on the ambroxan/iso-e super so for me they're best enjoyed from arm's length. I get anosmic if I try to smell some of these up close. If anyone from O.J. is reading this, please start selling the full bottles in the U.S.!

I also cannot comprehend how anyone can dislike Ormonde Jayne Woman 😅 Like, we cannot be friends if you do, lol. Have you tried the Parfum version or the Elixir? I didn't realize either existed until recently when I had a moment of silly panic about the prospect of OJW being discontinued and went in search of backup bottles. If you can believe it, the Parfum version is a tad more velvety and gorgeous, less sharp, than the EDP ❤ The Elixir is apparently equal parts OJ Woman and Man (which i also enjoy), plus a touch of Oud.

@TheTopNote I bought the Elixir last week as I was dying of curiosity. It definitely has a touch of Oud in the background, but mainly it's an intense version of OJW. 💗 I will need a bottle of Vanille des Afriques Intensivo next. Shockingly, I found it even more beautiful than Vanille d'iris!

Hi Cherie! Thanks for reviewing this house! I just recently discovered Ormande Jayne and so glad I did. I have only tried OJ Women, Tiare, Osmanthus and Frangipani. They are all super classy and gorgeous! I love OJ Women and it reminds me of Byredo Gypsy Water but OJ is like the pretty sister of GW. I will get a full bottle of OJ Women as soon as I finish my GW. Planning to get a FB of Osmanthus and can’t wait to try more in this house!

I love Ormonde Jayne, I only have three, but planning a fourth this week. I've never tried Ormonde Woman. Was always worried about style of green.. not a fan of pine or evergreen scents, but I really need to try it. I'm beginning to love green fragrances. I have T'aif, Prive, Frangipani and will be buying Damask! Always wanted to try Ormanthus too. Thanks for this round up of your fragrances. Always a pleasure xxx

Hi, I think we have similar tastes and I already own Ta'if and thinking of Frangipani for a summer scent. Would you recommend it just as highly as Ta'if (although I understand they are very different, usually tastes tend to be similar if they like/own other similar scents) Thanks in advance! E x

Great video! You got me to give Ormonde Jayne a second chance, and no regrets. I love both Prive and Isfarkand, and also Levant from the new line. And now I really want to test some of the one you mentioned here!

The only one I have so far is Taif. I really love it, so I would like to try more from the house. I have a sample of Ormonde Woman arriving soon and I’m looking forward to testing it out.

Can’t decide whether to buy ‘Vanille d Iris’ or not..🤔 I have found it on sale, but still an expensive blind buy I did have Montabaco hair mist and absolutely adored that! 💜 Love Iris and it has carrot seed in it(live that also)

Sorry for the late reply, did you end up deciding? I would recommend getting a sample first if you can. The reason being I got quite a prominent suedey element so if that’s not your jam then you may not like it. That said, the carrot note is definitely there too, lol. Another one with a prominent Iris and carrot seed combo is Tapis Volant by Liquides Imaginaires, maybe that’s worth trying too? Tapis volant I would say is more bright and airy than VdI - but it also doesn’t have the staying power that the Ormonde Jayne has.

@@TheTopNote I will check out the Tapis Volant. I didn’t purchase the Vanille d’Iris yet, but admittedly drawn to Ormonde Jayne due to my love for her ‘Montabaco’ hair mist(so beautiful!) I did purchase the ‘Maison Crivelli’ - Lys Solaberg due to its carrot seed note, but regretted it because due to the quince note, it settles quite sweet on my skin😬(one destined for eBay!)

Cherie you destroyed me...! I had some Ormonde Jayne samples laying in peace in a cupboard. After watching you, I pulled them out….I have already ordered Nawab of Oudh and I am struggling not to order Tolu…..I have and love Ormonde woman, but Nawab of Oudh is amazing, so elegant!!! The first Oud fragrance I fall in love with. And I was supposed to be done with fragrance shopping for June…

Is Ormonde woman “dark green”? 😂 Great video of one of my favorite houses. Weird thing is I want to dislike this house and yet I can’t get enough of fragrances like Evernia, Ormonde Man, Nawab of Oudh, Prive, T’aif and Montabaco Verano.

I've just watched this ( again) as I've been getting into the house and love everything I've tried so far! Byzance is my fave so far, ormonde woman and Xian come close though. Cherie I wonder if you have tried Gatsby or Indus?. I would love to hear your thoughts on these or any others you have tried, since. Great channel btw, the best frag channel on KZfaq IMO x

I'm back here because I was sent 'Levant' along with a few other samples..adore it! And that surprised me because I normally am drawn to woody fragrances...still regret not buying Vanille d'Iris when it was on sale :( But just didn't want to risk a blind buy. Really want to try 'Byzance'

Hi Helen! You know it’s interesting I didn’t really take to the La route de Soie line at first but now I love quite a few! Xi’an was my first fave, levant has been growing on me, Tanger is gorgeous. I will have to revisit my sample of Byzance! 🥰

@@TheTopNote ah I haven’t tried either Tanger or Xi’an…will try & get to Selfridges this weekend..I did blind buy ‘Metallique’ by Tom Ford(which admittedly have only smelt from a perfume card quite some time ago..haven’t opened the box because I want to test how the perfume chemistry is on my skin..an expensive blind buy 😬 so trying to be sensible!) I will definitely visit the Ormonde Jayne counter when I’m at Selfridges 🤗

Many places! Where do you live? In Australia you can sample and buy them from Libertine parfumerie and I think Peony Melbourne also stocks them. Online there are many many options and Ormonde Jayne also ship internationally :)
