The dry down for megamare is fabulous. Extremely long lasting and projects like crazy. The opening is a bit perplexing but the dry down is where it is all at.

Firstly, thank you for the amazing review. I think this is the only review on this fragrance where I agree with everything said. This is a very special fragrance to me, as I purchased it in Positano on my honeymoon. Much love from NY, keep killing it!

I was awestruck the first time I smelled this and bought it immediately. Yes, it’s powerful and one spray is more than sufficient. A great under reviewed and underrated fragrance.

Aaron id love to see you review a diptyque fragrance soon! They’re a really artisanal, crafty almost “photorealistic” type of perfume house. I think they’re stuff is great! They make really fantastic rose scents I think you’d love it.

this is the biggest projector in the whole world of fragrances, honestly, lasts days on skin , love the orto parisi fragrances, although Megamare is my least fav of the Parisi's, my fav is Terroni and Stercus , i think mr alessandro gualtieri is a genius

I definitely get a slight poo/manure on stercus but it goes away quickly. Most of the ortos are way to similar to black afgano in the drydown

You should try Amouage Opus 5 , since it’s a rose-oudy base fragrance with an orris touch and civet as the base. I believe it’s called Amouage Opus V Woods Symphony at the moment. Really curious about your opinion on this since it’s an unusual smell and it can be very “ odd “ for some noses. Love your videos!

That beautiful opening turns into a dark almost rotten seaweed like salty smell hours later, to my nose. Great to layer with Kouros on a Friday at work when you want to be left alone & completely avoided 😂

You know eloquent is a word, right? He's using eloquent in it's correct context as well, so I'm assuming he's saying eloquent because.....well.....he means eloquent, not elegant.

@cocopopsbrahhh Eloquent is not only related to speech but can also be defined as 'clearly expressing or indicating something' such as the phase 'the train journey alone is eloquent of class inequality' so no actual speech but the journey itself is able to be eloquent in how it treats first class compared to other travellers.

@@simply_psi this is a dumb conversation to have, but you’re wrong. there’s an error in your interpretation - in the example you gave, the word eloquent is used in conjunction to a concept “eloquent OF class inequality”, it’s referential, you can’t just say it’s eloquent, you have to say it’s eloquent of something, which is not what aaron is doing when he says eloquent, he’s just mistaking it for elegant and it’s pretty obvious.

This is definitely a very artistic perfume..My mum adores it. I think, this is, from the olfactive side, a really beautiful smell. Just a very creative approach to niche perfumery. I think, Gualtieri is a crazy chemist and inspiring artist.

Love this one, one of my favourite scents, it don't smell very artificial on me, i would describe it as wood soaked in salty water. Very long lasting on me, surviving showers as well. Try this on your skin before buying

This lasts over 30h on my skin, no joke. I have to change all my sheets in bed the day after I wear it because the bed completely reeks of it. It is absolutely true that you have to go out and wear it in the sun, then it starts to project like a monster. I love the fragrance, the first one I got from the house. Keep up the great work Aaron!

The projections, and going out thing. I didn't believe in that. Up until I bought Modest Une; Middle Eastern fragrance. I love the scent. The problem is it is starting to get cold; I couldn't smell it. Yet, when I was outside. As soon as the sun's rays touched it I could smell it it was like light touching a prism creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

i've smelled and bought tons of niche perfumes, but i couldn't find a perfume that makes me excited and kinda flying in the air like megamare does! the BEST PERFUME EVER PERIOD❤️‍🔥😍😍😍😍 i got tons of compliments wearing it especially when traveling people came asking me to write down the name of it, it's literally an art that you would never find anywhere else with all due respect. i love you megamare you're one of kind 🥹

Exactly. People say Zoologist TRex is unwearable while I consider it even gourmand for the first 30mins with an amber leather resin base afterwards. Reading reviews is always a hit or miss

Cuoium is one of my favourites by this perfumer , definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but an amazing leather fragrance , gets me smelling like clint in the good the bad and the ugly , all I need is the whistle and a poncho 😂

When I first sprayed it on I was mortified, but I kept it on and ended up really enjoying it. Smells like the ocean. I personally wouldn't by a full bottle, but I wouldn't be offended if I smelled it out in the world.

I got a sample of this on my arm walking around the frag district in NYC, during a very hot and very humid July 3rd of this year. I've never had folks turn around before as I passed them, but this day they surely did and it had to be because I was wearing two sprays of this. For me it had this stand-out-there quality I kept catching very string wiffs off me for the rest of the day.

I have it for few months and it is almost exactly same as Aaron describes it. Not overwhelming in projection but last very very long. In the air it is good but if you sniff closely ambergris type smell will burn your nose 😁. Overall i love it for what it is.

Megamare (roughly translating to "Great Sea" in Italian) has massive projection partly because of its insane overdose of ambrocenide (around 25% of the concentrate AFAIK), which in my experience causes instant olfactory fatigue at close distance although it is still perceptible. Norlimbanol (present at around 5% in Megamare) creates a similar "oversaturation effect" for me. With Megamare and Bergamask, people farther away will often notice you more than you can smell yourself. I know because I wore a single spray of Megamare to the office one day... 😊

One of my favorite God mode citrus niche frags. Some have said Orto Parisi perfumer Alessandro puts Oud in all his frags which contributes to longevity.

From what I’ve seen of chemical breakdowns/analysis of his compositions, he seems like like Ambrocenide a lot (there was no Oud in Bergamask), which is probably where the ‘Oud’ vibe and the longevity come from.

Yes, the monstrous performance is caused by massive amounts of high-impact superambers, or aromachemicals like javanol, sometimes overdosed at around 1,000 to 10,000- fold of the maximum concentration considered "safe" by more traditional perfumers. These fragrances are not cheap to make, but so much fun...

It’s nuclear ☢️ but it’s has weird facets that can be off putting. Sometime it smells great sometimes it smells like latex. Interesting frag. You think it’s not that crazy but your killing the block of people behind you and in front of you at the same time. I was in a store and someone sprayed 1 spray and it filled the entire store and the other side of the store. Crazy stuff.

@@ComplexWork that is NOT TRUE AT ALL. if anyone says it doesn't smell good, then there's definitely something wrong with his taste lol? I remember i was wearing this when i was in Mallorca in Spain. The lady working in store told me i've never smelt anyone from that far away. When you opened the door the smell was so strong and sooo good, it just hit me, what is that? She brought a paper and asked me to write down the name "even tho i may not be able to buy it" she said. IT WAS THIS GOOD, my friend with me could not believe how excited she was about it. it's the best fragrance EVER PERIOD

One spray of Megamare is enough to be noticed by everyone in the room. When you wear Megamare, it becomes your shadow. Sometimes the longevity that it has is scary.
