I have seen it classified as a Tragi-comedy or a Romance. Expect misfortune to occur in the first half of the story and for it to be undone by the end. Tragi-comedies earn their happy endings.

I saw this production earlier this evening at the RSC, I was blown away. The cast were superb and Alfred Enoch gave a masterful performance as Pericles. Go and see this before it's too late, you won't regret it.
