fun fact, when Hasselhoff came to capri, italy for some kind of cinema festival, in his hotel room, he found out supercar tv series was on a italian tv channel ....and he tought was in his honor....but the Knight Rider series basicly ran not stop from '80 to '00 and something

I see the same passion in Sean as I saw with the “Dutch Knightride”r. They’ll talk for hours and they love to show you everything and they are very open with all their information and experience (it’s no easy feat, even with the parts cast already!) And when he let us take a spin, you feel so nervous as you don’t want to damage their one if a kind and 1000s of hours of ongoing labour. And I was hyper alert and dead nervous, it felt like my driving exam 😂

What a find! Absolutely beautiful! He said the paint alone was $12K - I'd like to know the details (it's virtually perfect). From what I recall - 15 coats of black, 30 coats of clear, for a super wet look. But again - i'd like to know the details.

The original cars used TRS-80 Color Computers. (from Radio Shack), and actually ran the program, "Audio Spectrum Analyzer", by Steve Bjork, which was also used for the finale rap song, in Revenge Of The Nerds (1984)

Tesla need to do that front light and voice pack as an option I’d tick it if buying a Tesla. 👍 But that’s some screen replica KITT. Everyone who sees that Car drive about of a certain age will just get a hot fuzzy feeling. Brilliant please keep it on the road. I’m in the U.K. and just sat with a smile watching that 😁

You played it so well and so cool there until near the end, Michael. I mean, I thought "He's way too calm and composed. I'd be freaking out if I was right there next to Julia Roberts' boots from Pretty Woman, or Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman costume!" But then you slipped up there, asking about what would happen if he noticed KITT missing from the garage one (k)night.. Now he's gonna have his eye on you. So, I guess stealing is out. There's no such thing as a single true screen-accurate car. They used many cars that were all slightly different. Things like buttons moved and changed from episode to episode. Some features were actually not in the car at all, but were just some prop on a sound stage. The Knight Rider historians channel is a great resource if you want to learn about all these little differences between the cars.

Thanks, the Historians are great and helped with this video. To be fair nobody says this is screen accurate. Only that the dash is moulded from the original dash.

Beautifully nostalgic view of the last authorized replica of KITT. Magical memories made real in that replica vehicle. Wow, what an investment of time and money to realize that dream. Amazing commitment to a dream. A thoroughly enjoyable Quick Byte. Well done Perifractic. Just one question, why aren't the shorts on your channel called Retro Nibbles. After all, a nibble is half a byte in computing terms.

Glad you liked this! As for Shorts, I already have Quick Bytes, and Nibbles has been used by a few other retro channels. I think as they're so short and no space for a title card, it's simpler just to stick with KZfaq's nomenclature. 👍🕹️

Great series!!! I wonder if KITT ever made the trip with Michael when the Berlin Wall fell? We all know that before Michael started singing about Pamela Anderson running along the beach to the Germans, someone had to watch his back. Has anyone ever wondered why the evil kitt was a giant black truck and not just another black trans am with a big mustache on the front? That seems like the logical evolution of things.

Not surprising that CA DMV "doesn't like the car" whatever we do in CA some agency hates what we do, or makes us get a permit or license or just fines the snot out of us... best not to say anything. It's called a " Larson Scanner" because Glen A. Larson love to use them his shows, maybe he invented them, not sure. Check out the Cylons in the original Battlestar Galactica series for example.

It'll be even more historical, one day, if William Daniels allowed to assist, can provide his voice data and transfer them to 15.ai or any other voice capturing devices to be used for future smart cars, Siri & equivalents are nice, but KITT's voice is always the best & iconic to car lovers worldwide. Today's voices may only be used for normal navigations & weather news, but one day, if possible, KITT can become your car friend too

Wonderful video. Actually would be really interesting to do the KITT exoskeleton on KITTesla as you suggested in one of your comments. It would probably cost an arm and a leg to get all those hoods / quarter panels custom made. But even if it is 110% the size of original KITT, it would complete the look and most people wouldn't notice the size difference. A one of a kind TRULY self-driving KITT replica? That's absolutely priceless and although you would never part with it, we all know it would fetch a VERY handsome sum if you ever decided to put it on the market.

Maybe ten more years until AI is truly strong enough to give us the real KITT. Although.. I think once we can personality-theme our cars, I might like HAL as default, then a Cylon Centurion, the T-800, C-3PO, and Orac, depending on my mood. KITT would work well for me though, due to my name. Great, now I have the Terminator synth music buzzing around in my head and I must listen to the real thing to expunge it.

Very cool indeed. :-) The irony of this "high tech" car having a lack of standard modern safety equipment is causing some conflicts in my head! If only Turbo Boost really works you could negate not having an airbag when driving towards a brick wall or an oncoming vehicle! (I'm aware the cars used for those stunts didn't have the wonderful KITT interior and were often severely damaged when landing. Cars aren't built for flying, especially landing! LOL!)

What's mentioned in the actual Knight Rider show is that K.I.T.T. features an invisible restraining system. That's also why you AFAIK never see Michael Knight with a seatbelt on.
