As someone who used to have very long and bushy hair, I can’t vouch for the hair tie method. My hair was so difficult that if I put it in a bun, it would become a tangled mess. I could put it in a ponytail, but my hair was so damn big and long that it would still get in the way. Not to mention that whenever it got wet, it would take days to dry. I got it cut recently, and it’s been great. Combing it in the morning used to take forever, but now it’s much faster. While I could’ve always straightened my hair, I prefer it curly; I look terrible with straight hair. Having short curly hair is much better.

These issues DO happen though when you have your hair down when it’s long. It’s not an every second thing, but it happens. I recently cut 10 inches off of my hair, recently coming out as non binary, I got it cut to my ears :)

I've had hair down to my waist and I have been completely bald. Right now I have a pixie cut and I love it. I do miss being able to curl my hair a bit but the convenience is great. Also I save lots on shampoo and conditioner and hair color plus I usually cut my own hair.
