Always thought that it would greatly benefit hospitals if they ran all hospital more like Childrens' hospitals just in the amount and quality of care they provide.

Mary- Do you like to do puzzles? If you do, then you should try doing Ravensburger 3D puzzles. They're really fun and look cool, too. They might be a fun thing to keep you occupied while you are in the hospital or stuck at home.

Hi Mary, Peter, and Ollie! I've been watching your videos for several months. I decided to go back and watch your journey from the beginning and I'm in awe of your positivity and faith. While I was watching this video I made the observation that your room view is very similar to the view you recently had during your last visit. I just thought I'd comment my thought while I was watching.

I think that you guys are awesome! Such a sweet couple! Strong too! I am a patient at Boston Children's Hospital too. The child life Specialists are pretty awesome. I dont have Cystic Fibrosis, but I do have a heart condition called Tetrology of Fellot I have very low lung functioning, and a very unique heart anatomy. Ive stayed in that hospital so many times! When I have Pneumonia I have it really bad. I have to do Chest PT, and I have never seen a PT vest before! How awesome is that! You are a strong lady Mary! Keep up the good work, and I also appreciate you guys have such a strong faith with God, and God has always helped me through my struggles with my health. So glad I found this channel!

This video made me a bit homesick. I grew up in MA, a town a few miles north of Boston and I worked in Children's Hospital for a while. Good memories and a great hospital. Thanks for sharing, I am enjoying your vlog (went back to watch them all in order).

@kellyj.goodgoldberger40128 жыл бұрын
***** I hear ya on the migraines. For some reason I don't remember the sound bothering me.
@sprinklefriend8 жыл бұрын
Kelly Good it's possible your hospital had better sound protection than mine. at the time the hospital was being re-done because it was quite old. i'm sure the newer walls & windows add better protection. it's also likely that helicopters weren't as commonly used when that building was first built, because only later did it become a regional trauma center, so they may not have given any thought to adding extra sound-proofing in the area around the helicopter pad. i used to dread that sound, it could wake me up from even the deepest drug-induced sleep!

Hi Mary (and Peter of course!) I was so impressed to see the Child Life person got you real rag watercolor paper - did they get you quality watercolor paint as well? The first time I got quality materials like that it was like a whole new world of watercolor opened up and I took to it like a duck to water(color)! But maybe you always use high-quality paints and paper? Then to get the nail polish on top! Was it high quality as well? Whatever, I was so impressed by this Child Life deal and so glad they made you happy ...
@thefreylife8 жыл бұрын
+Christine M My first days of watercolor painting were with children's watercolor paints...and then a week or two into it, I got some better quality ones :) And I only had one bad quality brush as well...gotta make the most of what you have, right ? :)

I just love your husband he reminds me of mine, always doing something to make me laugh. I tell you what I wish I'd found this before I was in the hospital last. I was so bored I wanted to leave but they wouldn't let me until I could walk. Mean old doctors. I was bad the last day I kind of faked it till I maked it. 5 days was enough. I'm sure sometimes you have to endure more than that 5 day mark. So I have to say you two once again are a-maz-ing. Such roll models!

I've a question I'm from Europe and I'm 15 but when a kid becomes 16 or 17 they need to go to the adult hospital ( I don't know how i need to call it) anyway your an adult so how come you are still in the children's hospital? Is it different in the USA or is it because you've CF. just because I've friends with CF who just turned 17 and needed to leave the children's hospital. I was wondering. Good luck with everything ❤

she's probably not there anymore, but was your child life specialist by any chance Kristy? she was so fantastic with me. ...of course, the first time she introduced herself I misunderstood and thought she was there to talk to me about dying... but still, she fixed it. I used to beg for movies that were anything other than G. There was only ONE R rated movie when I was younger. Hope things got a little better. At least with the port, you have full use of your hands. I was always so afraid of my IVs.

+christina leach The pediatric and the adult CF programs meet at Children's hospital- so my team is made up of adult physicians, we just meet in a pediatric building :)
@sprinklefriend8 жыл бұрын
+christina leach i'm surprised at her answer. i know it used to be a much sadder reason! my next door neighbors had 4 kids, 2 with CF. i asked why they would go to the children's hospital when they were adults (i believe around 18 and late 20s when i asked) and the answer was that most CFers are kids. this is because treatment had not advanced to where it is now, and most died by early adulthood, so it was hard to find doctors who treated adult CF patients. those 2 neighbors died at 31 and 45, and the older one was VERY active right until the end! i'm so happy that treatment has come as far as it has. it gave my friends a chance to live life, especially the guy, who had a family of his own.
