The IS350 is still a great car even in 2020. It's more than fast enough for street driving, the AWD is very good, it looks good inside and out and you know it'll be super reliable. It's also made in Japan, a rare bonus nowadays.

I love my Lexus. I'd never buy another type of vehicle. I had many cars and hands down the Lexus is the best I ever owned.

What’s made it the best car you’ve owned?

@@Modern.Motoring The reliability. The craftsmanship. I had my ES for 2-years and the only thing I had to do with it was oil changes. An i live in NYC and always driving. Best car hands down.

The mouse controlled screen is sooooo much better than the touchpad that you simply are not familiar wit it. With just a little use, the mouse controller becomes a welcomed an intuitive friendly system that is one of the best, easiest to use systems on the market.

How come you can use regular gas on the ES model but can't on the IS model?
@kenjiang213 жыл бұрын
I have to say. As old as the interior is, I still like how simple it is and i don’t mind the Cd player bc i’m sure playing CDs on the ML audio system probably sounds amazing. the only thing bad is the cup holders are in a very weird spot and they should updated the interior to have the cup holders above the clutch. oh well. still a rly nice sedan lexus built

What bulb size are the triple beam headlights ?
@DrSpideybug4 жыл бұрын
They are LEDs and not the regular old-style bulbs. I don't think they can be individually replaced. If one goes out, I think the entire headlight assembly will need to be replaced, which will be pricey!
@Logic227Productions4 жыл бұрын
i hate when car manufacturers will add led turning signals in just the front or just the back. I’ll have to add rear LEDs if I get this.

how is this compared to the ACURA TLX? pros and cons?
@Modern.Motoring4 жыл бұрын
I like the TLX better. The current generation TLX has gorgeous looks, especially in black with the A-Spec package. The interior, to me, has a better fit and finish for the luxury market. The infotainment system is MUCH easier to navigate/operate. It's got more of a sturdy drive feel on straightaways and corners. Here's my video from a few years ago on the TLX: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jd2Ta9eTrtXakY0.html

@@Modern.Motoring thanks bro, has it been reliable?
@elusivellama4 жыл бұрын
TLX is the last generation Honda Accord dressed up to look like an Acura. It is also FWD-based with a transverse engine, so it tends to be nose heavy. The turning radius sucks and the ZF 9 speed is a terrible, terrible transmission. If I were you, I'd either go with the IS350 or wait for the next gen TLX which will be on its own Acura-exclusive platform, and will likely feature a 2.0T engine. The IS350, by comparison, is RWD-based with a longitudinal engine so it drives much sportier, and the AWD system is a really good geared system. It's also made in Japan, while the TLX is not. Don't buy the current gen TLX, at least wait for the redesign.

elusivellama Will there continue to be a realistic demand for a luxury sedan in the next 4-5 years?
@elusivellama4 жыл бұрын
@@Modern.Motoring I think there will still be a demand for a luxury sedan even 4 - 5 years out, even 10 years out. If this weren't the case, then BMW wouldn't have made the M340i or kept the 3 series updated as much as it has. Same goes for Audi and Mercedes. Acura is even coming out with a TLX Type-S, along with their redesigned TLX. Cadillac even has the CT4 and CT5, and Genesis still has 3 luxury sedans vs their 1 SUV. Dropping sedans would be a mistake just because people are going crazy for SUVs and CUVs - you still need to pull in a younger demographic and those people are not looking for SUVs/CUVs. You still need variation in the line up. You still need to inject sport and performance into the brand to maintain luxury status, and those sedans project the appearance of sport/performance better than a souped up SUV ever can.

Toyota really needs to hire some Germans to design it's infotainment system. Hyundai took this path and have gotten a lot of praise for it from car reviewers. No offence but UI design is not a strength of the Japanese - Watch their TV shows and you'll see what I mean (i.e. too many colours, marquee and flashes all over). They fail to understand that simplicity is the key to good systems design and not too many clunky features that are hard to navigate around.
@andrewmeehan61514 жыл бұрын
It’s really not that bad, I would argue that this design is better long term than the CarPlay touch screens. Especially if all of a sudden everyone stops buying iPhones because there is some other new phone interface several years out
@DrSpideybug4 жыл бұрын
The interface isn't terrible, but the touchpad controller is horrendous! I have the first-gen touchpad in my car and it is a nightmare to use. It jumps around with even the slightest touch, and many times it will "double-click/press" when I only pressed once. Thankfully, I don't have to use it very often, but when I do, it rarely goes smoothly. I wish Lexus would just bring the screen closer to the driver and make it touch screen.
