With things changing in the NFL and CFB, I wouldn't be surprised if more US athletes earlier in their careers start the switch. I know I'm telling many young footballers to look at rugby as another competitive option, regardless of professional status.

Great, great player, Baker. The only guy I've seen him tackled him from behind is Marcos Moneta, argentine Pumas player. New England Patriots had a Nat Ebner great rugby seven player. Great AF player too. They let join the USA 7's team for the olimpic games. Sometimes NFL about these issues are very very closed minded. Baker should've been a NFL player. There are and was lot of NFL players with a long or short rugby past. And gotta say they gave them a very short window of opportunities to those australian rugby players who tried to make the big switch to AF.

I was there also saw him score a try after a amazing chip vs all blacks such a fun player to watch

I'm a Fiji 7's fan but I was rooting for Kenya 7's when they played in L.A. last month. I was there for this past tournament and the Kenyan fans turned up and showed out 👍🏼

Carlin opened the door for Perry and introduced a lot of Americans to Rugby. Carlin IMO was the 1st American 7s Rugby player that people knew of outside of Rugby because of his track career and Olympic tryouts. Once he tried Rugby 7’s, the marketing around him exploded . Carlin was fast on the straight line sprint, but couldn’t cut like Perry. I believe Perry is a better all around player.

@@onebridge7231 oh yeah for sure Brother like you said isles couldn’t make the cuts but perry could and that’s one thing I criticised about isles. Plus perry has been way more consistent, and even if you are an average player in sevens you will be mentioned due to the fact everyone can see that at least you are consistent. He will be of the all time great when it’s all said and done.

@@jtaco4101 Yeah there’s really no reason. Even in the small football leagues(USFL, CFL, etc..) they make as much if not more than the highest paid rugby leagues in the world. Why would some USFL player decide to give up football and learn a whole new sport just to make the same amount of money lol. That would be completely illogical. And that’s if we’re talking purely financial incentive. Most football players at the college and professional level love the game of football more than anything in their live’s and thus have no desire to go play rugby.
