Perry County Commissioner Tries To Have Me Escorted Out By Sheriff

Apparently Commissioner Frank Campbell does not feel safe with video recording. In attempts to record my interactions to promote transparency while submitting a FOIA request, I am stopped by a Perry County PA Commissioner who felt safety was more important that the constitution. If you ask me, video recording is a measure of safety, did he think I was going to commit a crime on film? I'm sure this is just a start to a very lengthy series about Accountability and Transparency

Should have taken your time and wasted theirs. Two hours documenting should have done it. They can't "follow" you around. That's stalking and a violation of the 4th amendment.

While I know nothing about Perry County, if they are left or right leaning. Either way, goverment agencies and elected officials hate being held accountable, or feel they actually work for the people that elects them. Keep up the great work, keep them accountable and stay persistent! Nothing changes if you don't stay on top of it. We need more people like you making inquiries and asking them the uncomfortable questions.

Perry county is predominantly (99%) conservative. I live there.

@@KC-rk1hx based on the presidential election votes, it's been around 70 percent Republican since 2000. I'm not sure what it is based on registered voters. I'll try to remember to look that up later.

The sheriff was doing okay but he had to go and blow it. The county I live in just voted out every supervisor and the sheriff for being stupid about our rights this place can do the same very easy

Overall not the worst interaction I could have had. I did not feel the need for him to hang out until I left; However, just like you and I, he has every constitutional right to be where he chooses in public. Its a fine line to walk but I try to steer clear of hypocrisy.

The thing is, you went there hoping for this to happen. And that’s fine. File a lawsuit if you feel your rights were infringed upon. I know we’re all, to a person, expected to just have an emotional response in the comments, but I look at this practically. You’re jumping on the 1AA thing that’s been around for a long time. But you obviously have no clue about the actual issues other than “I don’t like your attitude.” Of that’s how you feel, don’t set them up for YT likes and maybe a payout from a lawsuit. Organize. Put your name on the ballot. Anything else is just empty.

There is no lawsuit to follow, that's not my goal. My goal is to show the county how our public servants act. I encourage you to watch my follow up videos to come where I can discuss the issues indepth. Foia and gathering evidence takes time
