Please, don't buy pets, adopt them instead. There are millions of abandoned Persian cats in the world because of all the extra care and vet bills they need. This bred has health issues due to the modifications that humans have performed on them in order to get flatter faces for instance which causes respiratory problems among other issues.

I only just read your message so its probably a bit late but it might help others to read on. I bought my Persian cat from an accredited breeder because i want a cat with a good temperament, from a good home and a known healthy bloodline to reduce the risk of the health issues Persian cats can have. I have purposely not gone for an extreme flat faced Persian because of the eye and nose problems this can cause and I completely agree overbreeding is bad when the cat's health is put at risk for their looks, just like dogs and other pets. Because we have had too much ill health & loss in the family, vets bills are so much and I am only getting this (my second cat) and no more I want one from a kitten so I can be sure it has been fed and medically treated correctly from the start and gets used to being handled, groomed and bathed regularly from an early age. Knowing what you are getting and doing your research before you get a cat is vital. Well done for watching videos like this that show you what looking after a pet really can entail. Look into breeds, temperament, care, health problems and most importantly make sure you meet the cat and its parents if it is a kitten to make sure it is for you and you are happy with its care and temperament and that of its parents and siblings. I would love to rescue a cat but getting a cat who is sick or has long term hidden problems from previous owners, is old or unhappy to be groomed or handled would just not work for my kids and family and what we need from a pet right now. People who visit can't believe how friendly, cuddly and happy to be handled my two cats are, one Persian now 9 months and and one rag doll mix 14 months old; so many visitors are used to the scratchy, hissy, bitey cats that ignore you at best. Even the grumpiest cat hater has melted before them after a few fluffy purrs. I had rescue cats as a child and they tolerated us but these two love us, or at least kid us into thinking they do. When I am older, not working and my husband has gone (he restricts my cat numbers) I can become a rescue cat lady. I hope you take your time, do your research and find the RIGHT cat or kitten for YOU and get it spayed or neutered. Rescue cat or not, that is the best thing you can do to prevent your cat or its offspring needing rescuing. Good luck x

I would never use it. Nor do our vets here ever recommend the use of hydrogen peroxide near the eyes. And use a different cotton pad for each eye so you don't cross contaminate. Been doing this for 39 years.
