There's nothing disruptive, real or raw about another US incubator brand. It's just marketing. This is not art, it is purely about cashing in on the trend and popularity of perfume. It might make some money in mass market (it's sold in Ulta also), but it won't be around in a few years, and they will just create another beauty brand of whatever is popular at the time. It's not niche perfumery. It'a become laughable at this point the brands launching

Was about to give up after the review of first one but glad that I kept watching. I completely agree with you about the perfumer vs the brand. Unless the brand is owned by a perfumer themselves, what they are working on is a brief by the brand and it depends on how much creative freedom, material range and the kind of approach they were given. At least that is my understanding.

I bought the sample set for the reason that for one, I want to participate in the sniffing with you, so I can have an understanding on what you are describing. I'm quite new to this. I've only developed this deep interest for fragrances this year. Before that in the 90s, my 20s, I owned a bottle of estee lauder's pleasures, davidoff cool water, hugo boss and the likes. In January this year when I was at the Garfield Park Conservatory, I smelled a botanical perfume made from flowers at the greenhouse. It was a divine marriage of honey and jasmine. This got me back into perfumes again. And as I do my research, I found out that there is a whole subculture to this perfumery business. Anyhow, for most of the perfumes on your videos I have seen so far, I don't own any. But I've noticed that you like some of the ones I like, Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line. But having seen this video now, I am beginning to think that we are in the same sphere as far as perfume preference. We have the same sentiments for Noyz. And this is important because there are so many perfume videos out there and it's better to narrow in on the ones that are closer to your own flavor profile. At least you seem to :) So on one aspect I wish I watched this video first before getting the set. But then again, I wouldn't have a better idea whether we share similar tastes, well that's rich for me to say considering you're an erudite and me a mere neophyte LOL. Am wearing Monochrome which I think is the Harrods exclusive and I suppose the ‘edgiest’ of the 5 (has a black cap, others are white) and the most expensive of course! £150 when the others are £80. Smells a lot like one of the scents he’s also done for the recent Victoria Beckham collection and has it all thrown against the wall; smoky, chocolatey, oud and rose. Derivative but ok if you like this kind of thing I suppose

Ernesto and his Team collect the plants for their colognes and perfumes themselves where he lives ,an area called the Emporda close to the French boarder.I think you would really like their colognes and also their perfumes.They do Discovery Sets if you are interested.

far too many people wanting to launch a fragrance line have walked in to Robertet and ended up with Jerome Epinette producing a line for them. Bibbi, Atelier, Byredo, Victoria Beckham, Vilhelm Parfumerie (and others). A street vibezy named brand which has gone down this path is not a disruptor. Far from it. IN the words of Del Trotter- what's that i can smell. And it's not the perfumes.

Being rebellious only works when there is something to rebel against. Producing incredible artistry and quality would be the height of edgy nonconformity in these times.

I knew before clicking in that these would be bad. I’m at the point where I have no interest in any new “niche” fragrance brands these days. I’ll stick with my beloved Francesca B and Liz Moores, or the classics from before woody ambers infiltrated and ruined modern perfumery. Rant over 😂

And also confirmed today that Patchouli by Le Labo has been discontinued, I didn’t know this. Utterly bizarre choice and apparently too expensive to keep making based on sales

Concur wholeheartedly, I trashed these in my story last night smelling them in Harrods. Vanillic woody amber, cassis base faux fig, metallic musks and violet rose for me, all derivative and banal. If this travesty of a brand is due to greed and maliciousness rather than negligence, I wish them the worst.
